Pattonsburg Sits Atop District 7 Football Pairings

Pattonsburg sits atop the District 7 football standings, which also includes Worth County. This is from the first district point standings that were released after week four. The Panthers’ win over Mound City has turned out to be key, as that game is Mound City’s only loss so far. This will help determine bye weeks and home field advantage.

For District 7, Pattonsburg has 46.25 points in district standings.  King City, which is also undefeated at 4-0, is second with 43.83 points. Worth County, at 3-1, is at 39.42 points. They are followed by Albany (24.42), Princeton (15.33), and Stanberry (12.00). If districts were to be held this Friday, Pattonsburg and King City would have byes, Worth County would play Stanberry, and Albany would play Princeton.

In District 1, Lockwood is on top with 46.08 points and a 4-0 record. They are followed by Liberal, at 3-1 with 36.42 points. They are followed by Greenfield (25.42), Jasper (20.17), and New Heights Christian (16.75).

Lincoln sits atop District 2 with a 2-0 record and 46.33 points. Back-to-back state champion Archie is second at 3-1 and 43.42. Upcoming power Appleton City is third at 38.17 points. They are followed by Osceola (31.75), Drexel (29.75), and Rich Hill (12.08).

District 8 is loaded with three undefeated teams. Knox County is first with 45.73 points. Paris is second with 45.50 points. North Shelby, who went to state last year, is third with 42.17 points. They are followed by Schuyler County with 22.33 points and Keytesville with 13.36.

District 3 is headed by Northwest Hughesville, a one-time doormat who now sits atop the standings at 4-0 with 45 points. Concordia is second at 2-2 with 29.75 points. Santa Fe is third at 2-2 with 28.83. They are followed by Sweet Springs (28.50), St. Paul Lutheran (25.75), and Slater (10.25).

Norborne/Hardin Central sits on top of District 4 with 48.58 points, the most of any team in the state. They are at 4-0. Wellington/Napoleon and Orrick are second and third; both are 2-2 with Wellington/Napoleon at 31.08 and Orrick at 30.83. Northland Christian is at 19.50 and Braymer, who has fallen on hard times after a state semifinal run last year, is at 12.00.

St. Joseph Christian sits atop District 5 at 3-1 after their thrilling 48-42 overtime win over Albany Friday. They are the only team in the district with a winning record. They are followed by LeBlond at 1-3 with 23.27 points, South Holt at 1-3 with 20.17 points, Stewartsville/Osborn at 0-4 with 13.67 points, and DeKalb at 0-4 with 12.83 points.

Platte Valley will finally go through a district without having to face Worth County, but they are out of the frying pan into the fire as they are in District 6, with five out of the six teams there having a .500 or better record. And North Andrew, the one team at 1-3, has played a loaded schedule with Worth County and Pattonsburg already.

Rock Port sits atop District 6 with 47.58 points. Nodaway Valley, also at 4-0, is second with 46.33. Mound City, at 3-1, is third at 37.33. East Atchison is fourth at 32.33. Platte Valley is fifth at 31.75. North Andrew is sixth at 21.75.

All district standings are subject to head-to-head tiebreaks. If a team has beaten another team immediately ahead of them in the standings, it is an automatic switch. No team can switch up or down more than one level.
