Keep Your Keys Program Available in Northwest Missouri

The Northwest Missouri Regional Council of Governments (NWMO RCOG) is excited to bring an educational opportunity to individuals aged 55 and older along with caregivers concerned with driving safety. The Keep Your Keys program is a driver-safety course geared toward people 55 and older, caregivers and facilitators, health educators, policy or highway patrol departments, nurses, etc.

The Program provides resources for adults – both individuals and caregivers – who may need support to continue driving or retire from driving. To keep ourselves and our fellow motorists’ safe, it’s essential to self-assess our driving skills on a regular basis.

Whether you’re able to ease into driving retirement or it happens unexpectedly, it’s important to create a transportation plan that helps you stay active and social even if you can no longer drive. Three NWMO RCOG staff members were trained in September 2025 to be facilitators of the Keep Your Keys program. They can present Keep your Keys anywhere within the Atchison, Gentry, Holt, Nodaway, and Worth county region. For more information about the program, or to schedule a free presentation, contact Heather Montenguise at 660-582-5121 ext. 9 or at heather@nwmorcog.org.
