Obituary -- Wayne Poeppe 1932-2019

Wayne Joseph Poeppe, 87, Eagleville, MO passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at a Leon, Iowa hospital.

He was born on January 24, 1932 in Carroll, Iowa the son of A.J. and Julia (Nieland) Poeppe.

On January 7, 1956, he married Alvina Catherine Brincks in Carroll, Iowa. She survives of the home.
Wayne served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He then worked as a municipal lineman and later as mechanical maintenance at Graceland College. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Bethany, MO as well as a member of the VFW and American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Sister Anita, Fern, and Dale.

In addition to his wife, Wayne is survived by his children, Aleta (David) Cochran, Adel, IA, Debra (Paul) Mathes, Eagleville, MO, Keith Poeppe, Eagleville, MO, Duane (Sherry) Poeppe, Moberly, MO, James (Laura) Poeppe, Fountain Hills, AZ and Denis Poeppe, Eagleville, MO; siblings, Delora, Ken, Phyllis, Patricia and Zeline; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Wayne has been cremated under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO.

Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 21 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Bethany, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter, IA. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church.
