Mustangs Swept by South Holt

North Nodaway’s boys were dropped 50-39 Friday by South Holt as the Knights’ defense held North Nodaway to only two 3-pointers. Andrew Quinlin went off on the Mustangs to the tune of 25 points, and they didn’t have an answer to stop him.

Austin Bird had 10 points to lead the Mustangs. Tyler Bix had 9, Ryan Riley 8, Karson Oberhauser 6, Andrew Blackford 4, Darron Bix 2, and Wyatt O’Riley 1. The Knights led 21-17 after the half and outscored North Nodaway 15-10 in the third quarter to take control.

The girls were on a two game winning streak, but fell 74-49 to South Holt. Doormats for several years, the Knights have risen to become solid in the last two years; they are one of three Cinderella teams in the area along with Osborn and Tri-County. Their only two losses this year have been to East Atchison.
