Kandace Damgar, Jacquelyn Cline Lead Mustang Girls Past Stewartsville 39-32

Kandace Damgar had 19 points and Jacquelyn Cline had 16 more as the Mustangs took an 11 point halftime lead, then held off Cardinal attempts to get back in the game. They each had three 3-pointers in the game. The boys had nine in their game, which meant that the boys and girls teams had 15 three-pointers combined Monday night.

The Mustangs punched their ticket to Northwest with the win. They face DeKalb Wednesday; the Tigers faced an improved West Nodaway squad, but swarmed and pressed the rockets to come away with the 52-19 win. They were the runner-up in the tournament last year, falling to Northeast Nodaway.

North Nodaway was decimated this year as they lost six seniors to graduation and saw two of their key cogs go down with injuries, but they were able to use a strong second quarter to take a 23-12 lead at the half.
