Jackson Runde Hits 29 Points, 9 Threes as Tigers Beat Nodaway-Holt 75-21

Worth County’s boys had an even easier time of it against Nodaway-Holt than the girls did, as they ran away from the hapless Trojans and won 75-21 Friday. Jackson Runde, who had not scored a lot this year, suddenly went off in Friday’s game with 29 points and 9 triples; Jaxon Anderson added another 20 in the win. Jackson Smith had a career night with another 10.

Jaxon Anderson drove down the right baseline to open the scoring and then Alex Rinehart went coast to coast. Aydan Gladstone hit two free throws, and then Runde hit back to back jacks to make it 12-0. From there on out, the Tigers were bigger and quicker than the Trojans, who have fallen on hard times during the past two years.

By the end of the first quarter, it was 27-2 after Anderson got a steal and scored at the buzzer. Runde scored nine in the first quarter along with Anderson, and Aydan Gladstone followed with seven more.

In the second quarter, Runde added another 11 as the Tiger lead grew to 46-4 at the break. Three different black and gold shirts had the hot hand in the third quarter as Anderson had 9 more to get to 20, Runde added three more 3-pointers, and Jackson Smith erupted for 8 points, including two triples to make it 74-12 after the third quarter.

Jackson Runde had 29 points for the Tigers to set a career high. Jaxon Anderson had 20, Jackson Smith 10, Aydan Gladstone 9, Alex Rinehart 4, Grant Cameron 2, and John Galanakis 1.

Aydan Gladstone and Jaxon Anderson had 9 boards. Alex Rinehart, Jackson Smith, Jackson Runde, and Grant Cameron had 4 each. Lucas Wake and Jace Cousatte had 1 each.

Aydan Gladstone had 6 assists. Jackson Runde had 5, Alex Rinehart and Grant Cameron 4, Lucas Wake 2, and Jaxon Anderson and Jackson Smith 1.

Alex Rinehart, Jackson Smith, and Jackson Runde all had 3 tips. Jaxon Anderson and Aydan Gladstone had 2, and Lucas Wake had 1.
