Obituary -- Frances Wilmes 1940-2019

Frances Jean “Fran” Wilmes, 79, of Maryville, Missouri passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.

Fran was born on January 22, 1940 in Albany, California to Floyd and Louinda Brown.

Fran began working with her parents at the Brown Shoe Repair. She was a homemaker and was a cashier in the finance department at St. Francis Hospital and was a volunteer at the gift shop. She delivered meals on wheels and enjoyed playing Bridge. She was a member of St. Gregorys Barbarigo Catholic Church where she was very active.

She married Marvin A. Auffert on May 10, 1959. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1984. She was also preceded by her parents. She later married Alfred Wilmes on November 30, 1985 in Parnell, Missouri, He survives of the home. Additional survivors include her children, Bob (Kim) Auffert, Greg (Stephanie) Auffert, Tim (Tonia) Auffert, Rosalee (Terry) Strom, Marvin (Lori) Wilmes, Vince (Joan) Wilmes, David (Kelly) Wilmes, Dean (Tara) Wilmes, Norbert (Tammy) Wilmes, Linda Noble, Nancy Wilmes, Roland (Chantel) Wilmes, Karl (Stephanie) Wilmes; brother, Richard Brown; forty-seven-grandchildren and forty-eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial Mass 10:30 am Monday, December 23rd at St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church under the care of Price Funeral Home. Burial St. Columba Cemetery, Conception, Missouri. Rosary 5 pm Sunday, December 22nd at St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church. The family will receive friends following the rosary until 7 pm.
