The Worth County boys were second at the Tiger Relays last Wednesday, getting 69 points for the afternoon to 87 for Rock Port. Worth County beat out nemesis Stanberry in the crowded field as the Bulldogs got 60. King City followed with 54, Maysville with 51, and Gallatin with 40. 19 teams participated in the meet.
Brian Hall, throwing into the wind, won the Discus with a personal best of 139'8". That was 4 feet ahead of Issac Eads of Maysville. Dallas Greenland was 3rd with a throw of 124'2". Hall was also 4th in the Shot Put with a throw of 39'2". Dylan Kinsella was 6th with a throw of 37'3 1/2".
In the Long Jump, Eli Mullock was 3rd with a jump of 18 feet. That was a recovery from his performance in Albany in which he didn't place.
Alex Harmening matched his best vault of the year as he got 10'6" in the Pole Vault, good enough for third place. Wyatt Rush was 5th with a vault of 9 feet.
The 4x800 Relay Team had one of their best times of the year, getting a time of 9:04.00 in placing 4th. That was eight seconds off the pace set by Maysville.
Eli Mullock did not quite match his record breaking time at Rock Port in the 100 as he got a time of 11.13. But that was still good enough to win the event handily as he was .48 of a second ahead of Riley Williams of North Andrew. Eli had just as little trouble winning the 200 as he won that event with a time of 23.54. That was .92 of a second ahead of Japheth Busick of Newtown-Harris.
The 4x200 team was 5th with a time of 1:41.40. That was 3.05 seconds off the pace set by Stanberry, which won with a time of 1:38.35.
Mitch Andrews continued to place in the 400, getting 4th in that event with a time of 57.10. That was 3.48 seconds off the pace set by Devin Gage of Stanberry. Mitch Andrews also placed in the 800, where he was 5th with a time of 2:18.17.
It was a tough day for Levi Kalal in the 3200. He had one of his better times in that event but finished 6th with a time of 11:33.58. The top three finishers all finished with a time of under 11 minutes while the 4th place finisher finished just over 11 minutes in the tough field.
The 4x400 team was 6th with a time of 4:01.05. That was 13.85 seconds off the pace set by Stanberry.
