Raccoon Causes Power Outage Sunday Night
A power outage struck the entire area last night affecting KCP&L customers. Vernon Coy of the company reported that a raccoon had gotten into one of the main transformers in Maryville, causing the outage. The electricity went out at around 10:00 Sunday night. Power was restored that evening at 11:30; the outage lasted an hour and a half.
