Taryn Farnan matched a personal best in the High Jump. She finished tied for 5th with a jump of 4'8". Rock Port seems to be a home away from home for her as she got 4'8" there earlier this year.
Michelle Schulte was second in the long jump with a leap of 14' 9 1/2". That was 2 1'4" off the jump of Shanna Welch of Jefferson; it was still one of Schulte's best jumps of the year.
Michelle was 4th in the Triple Jump with a leap of 30 feet. That was 3'9" off the pace set by Taylor Miles of Mound City, who is the defending state champion in the event. On the boys side, Sage DeLong got his first ever points as a Bluejay, getting 6th with a jump of 36'10".
Michelle Schulte was 2nd in the 800 to Emilee Messer of Mound City again, but continued to improve her time in that event, getting a 2:35.12, which was her best time of the year so far. Messer established herself as a favorite to win state, getting a time of 2:27.04 in the event.
