Taryn Farnan was 4th in the High Jump with a jump of 4'6". She finished two inches off her personal best of 4'8" at Rock Port, which won her the event, but still had one of her best jumps so far this year. Michelle Schulte came back from a DQ on her second attempt to get her personal best of 30'11" in the triple jump and take third place. That was 3'8" off the jump of defending state champion Taylor Miles of Mound City. Michelle was also third in the Long Jump with a season best of 14'11 1/2". Schulte took some time off her performance in the 800, but finished second to Emily Messer of Mound City. Messer was moved from the 3200 to the 800 this year and it paid off for Mound City. Michelle finished second with a time of 2:37.72, seven seconds behind Messer. The two were far ahead of the rest of the field.
