Sawyer Thurman, Brayden Combs Rise; Boys Third, Girls Fourth

Sawyer Thurman has been rising in the ranks in the Javelin and Brayden Combs has been rising in the Pole Vault for the Worth County boys track team, while Eva Engel and Emma Spencer posted first place finishes for the girls at Stanberry Tuesday, April 29th.

For the boys, Princeton had 90, Albany 84, Worth County 71, Stanberry 66, King City 56, Rock Port 49, Maysville 47, Pattonsburg 34, DeKalb 33, North Andrew 31, North Nodaway 28, Nodaway Valley 10, and Platte Valley 6.

Lucas Frisch won the 110 Hurdles with a time of 16.21. The 4x100 was second with a time of 47.22. The 4x200 was third with a time of 1:46.56. The Sprint Medley team won with a time of 1:44.89.

Andrew Griffin was second in the High Jump with a height of 1.80 meters. Brayden Combs was second in the Pole Vault with a height of 3.05 meters. Wyatt Hill was tied for fourth with a height of 2.74 meters. Lucas Frisch won the Triple Jump with a jump of 11.96. Sawyer Thurman had an outstanding finish in the Javelin with a throw of 38.80 meters. Wyatt Hill was fifth with a throw of 37.45.

For the girls, Rock Port ran away with the meet with 166 points. Albany had 70, Stanberry 68, Worth County 48, Platte Valley 47, DeKalb 46, Maysville 45, Nodaway Valley 45, Pattonsburg 26, Princeton 25, King City 13, and North Nodaway 1.

Emma Spencer was third in the 100 with a time of 13.58 seconds. She won the 200 with a time of 27.94. Keira Hardy was sixth with a time of 29.93.

The 4x100 was fourth with a time of 54.41. The 4x200 was third with a time of 1:57.43.

Riley Ridge was tied for second in the High Jump with a height of 1.50 meters. Eva Engel won the Pole Vault with a height of 3.35 meters, which would have placed her second in the boys event. Megan Tracy was fifth with a height of 1.98. Megan Tracy was fifth in the Triple Jump with a jump of 9.09 meters.
