The Missouri Department of Transportation has released a draft plan for public comment for 2026 through 2030.
The DOT has identified the following scoping plans for the area. These projects are not commitments to construct or implement an improvement. These decisions about commitments will be determined at a later date. The following scoping plans are proposed:
Daviess County
Route 13 — Scoping for pavement improvements in Daviess County (Routes 13 & V) and Harrison County (Route H).
Harrison County
I-35 — Scoping for pavement improvements from the Iowa State Line to Route N near Eagleville.
Nodaway County
Route 71 — Scoping for pavement improvements on southbound lanes from Business 71 to north of Route A and from north of Route 48 to I-29 in Andrew County.
Worth County
Route 169 — Scoping for pavement improvements from Route 48 to Routes 136 and H in Gentry County (Carmack Junction).
The following construction projects are on the tentative DOT construction schedule for 2026-2030. Projects could be removed if the legislature repeals SB 262 (the 10 cent Missouri Gas Tax bill), there are state or federal budget cuts, or the project bids exceed the estimates.
Daviess County
Route 13 — Pavement resurfacing from Route 6 in Gallatin to Hamilton south city limits and on Business 36 from Route 36 to Route 13. Award date: November 2025
Route 13 — Bridge rehabilitation on various routes in Daviess, Grundy, Harrison, Linn, Mercer, Putnam, and Sullivan Counties. Project involves various bridges. Award date: 2026.
Route 190 — Pavement resurfacing from Route 146 to Route F in Jamesport. Award date: 2026.
Interstate 35 — Pavement repair from Route C near Pattonsburg to Route 69. Award date: 2027.
Interstate 35 — Bridge preventative maintenance over the Grand River and over Granite Avenue. Award date: 2030.
Route 6 — Pavement resurfacing west of Route V to 4th street in Trenton. Award date: 2026.
Route BB — Bridge replacement over I-35 3.6 miles north of Cameron. Award date: 2030.
Gentry County
Route 48 — Bridge replacement over 3rd fork Platte River 1.6 miles west of King City and Elm Grove Branch three miles east of King City. Award date: 2030.
Harrison County
Route 136 — Bridge replacement over I-35 in Bethany. Award date: 2030.
I-35 — Pavement resurfacing from Iowa state line to Route N near Eagleville. Award date: 2026.
I-35 — Job order contracting for pavement repair from Iowa state line to Clay County line. Award dates: May 2026 and 2028.
Route 69 — Bridge replacement over Zadie Branch one mile west of I-35. Award date: 2027.
Route N — Bridge rehabilitation over East Fork Big Creek between Eagleville and Blythedale. Award date: 2028.
Nodaway County
Route 71 — Pavement resurfacing from Iowa state line to Route CC. Award date: November 2025.
Route C — Bridge replacement over Moss Branch. Award date: 2030.
Route F — Bridge rehabilitation on various routes in Gentry, Harrison, Nodaway, and Worth counties. Project involves various routes. Award date: 2026.
Route VV — Bridge replacement over Platte River .4 of a mile west of Route AH near Conception Junction. Award date: January 2026.
The proposed program is available for public review. A summary of the comments will be presented to the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission following the public review period. After reviewing the summary and the final transportation program, it will be considered for approval at the July 9 MHTC meeting.
