Gilman City's girls were second in districts at Princeton Monday, finishing only behind Polo. Polo had 106.5, Gilman City 84, Princeton 81, Newtown-Harris 56, Gallatin 47, East Harrison 38, Meadville 35, Pattonsburg 34, North Harrison 33.5, Green City 33, Braymer 27, Mercer 22, Linn County 20, Southwest Livingston 18, North Daviess 12, Tina-Avalon 10, and Breckenridge 3.
Khloey Sperry was second in the 200 with a time of 28.68. She won the 400 with a time of 1:03.88. The Hawks were 1-2 in the 800 with Avery Gregg winning with a time of 2:35.36 and Kelsey Sperry second with a time of 2:39.03. The Hawks were 1-3 in the 1600 with Avery Gregg winning with a time of 6:05 and Shelby Gibson third with a time of 6:28.14. Shelby Gibson was fourth in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 20.07.
The 4x800 relay team of Kelsey Sperry, Shelby Gibson, Khloey Sperry, and Avery Gregg won with a time of 10:41.07.
Colbi Webb was seventh in the Shot Put with a throw of 8.09 meters. Pyper Taggart was eighth with a throw of 7.97 meters. Colbi Webb qualified in the Javelin with a third place throw of 28.64 meters.
Khloey Sperry shot up the charts in the High Jump, improving her height by several inches and breaking the five foot barrier. She was second with a height of 1.60 meters, behind only Annabelle Gardner (Pattonsburg).
For the boys, Princeton had 96, Green City 93, Tina-Avalon 92, Gallatin 78, North Harrison 58, Polo 49, Newtown-Harris 46, Gilman City 41, Meadville 34, Pattonsburg 32, Braymer 31, Hale 29, Southwest Livingston 16, Linn County 3, Mercer 2, North Daviess 1, and Breckenridge 1.
Camden Griffith was edged out in the 100, getting fifth with a time of 12.05 seconds and missing qualifying by .06 of a second. However, he won the 800 with a time of 2:02.61. Landon Preston missed qualifying by .01 of a second, getting fifth with a time of 2:09.90.
The 4x200 relay team of Kenyon Puls, Beau Gibson, Landon Preston, and Camden Griffith was fifth with a time of 1:42.77. The 4x800 relay team of Landon Preston, Kenyon Puls, Beau Gibson, and Camden Griffith won with a time of 9:01.84. They were neck and beck with Princeton until the third leg, when Beau Gibson pulled away for the Hawks and Camden Griffith continued to gain separation.
Parker Virtue narrowly missed out on qualifying in the Shot Put, getting fifth with a throw of 12.65 meters. Jace Estrada was eighth with a throw of 11.17. Jace Estrada was fifth in the Discus with a throw of 34.72 meters.
