The Emmet and Leah Seat Memorial Conservation Area in Worth County and Gentry County was featured in the Missouri Conservationist for May 2025. It is free of charge for Missouri residents from the Missouri Department of Conservation. It is located on nearly 3,500 acres.
There are 17 fishing ponds ranging from one-half acre to nearly six acres. There are more than 12 miles of mowed maintenance roads that are open to biking. The MDC uses it for spring bird counts.
There are two field archery walking courses, individual campsites, and deer and turkey hunting subject to MDC regulations. Fish available include black bass, catfish, sunfish, and white bass. A complete list of birds recorded at the Seat Farm is available on their website.
Wildlife that can be found there include wood ducks, small-mouthed salamanders, striped skunks, and prairie kingsnakes.
Recently, Worth County fifth graders and Albany fourth graders were treated to a fishing clinic there. The Albany Qual & Upland Wildlife Federation brought free poles for the kids to keep.
