The North Harrison School Board, at its regular meeting Wednesday, hired Gracelyn Ashford as a 7-12 Family & Consumer Science teacher and Austin Steele as a Substitute Bus Driver. The board accepted resignations from teacher Brenda Adcock, Elementary Principal Susan Allen, and Superintendent Ethan Sickels.
The school is currently planning to charge for four year old preschool tuition for the Early Childhood Center. However, the school just got guidance for the Missouri Quality Pre-K grant. The school will apply for the grant and awards will be made July 9th. If the school receives the grant again, Pre-School will be free.
The board discussed the Elementary and Early Childhood Center driveway drainage scope and possible costs. While official bid numbers were not provided, Ledgerwood Concrete provided a scope of work for the project. The project has been tabled for discussion again for June as the school awaits news on federal funding as well as possible delinquent taxes from the sale of a local hog farm.
