Area Courthouse, Police, and Crime Reports for May 21st, 2025

On May 6th, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department arrested Craig O’Brien of Mount Ayr on charges of Grooming (Felony) and Enticing a Minor (Felony). Bond was set at $10,000, cash or corporate surety.

On May 9th, Cory Farrell (27) of Blockton pleaded guilty in Worth County Circuit Court to a charge of Driving While Revoked (Felony). He was placed on probation for four years by Judge Corey Herron.

On May 12th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Cory Kreiling (21) of Kearney alleging DWI.

On May 12th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Marisa Mackey (37) of Ravenwood alleging DWI and Driving While Suspended.

On May 14th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Hunter King (20) of Brimingham (MO) in Daviess County alleging DWI (Drugs), Minor in Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident).

On May 14th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against William McNab (45) of Albany alleging DWI, Failure to Signal, and Speeding.

On May 14th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Ronald Angle (34) of Stanberry alleging No Valid License (Felony), three counts Failure to Stop, and No Plates.

On May 15th, Judge Daren Adkins issued a warrant for the arrest of Brandon May (35) of Kansas City following a bond violation report. Bond was denied. The defendant was out on bond on two charges of Failure to Register as Sex Offender (Felony).

On May 15th, Harrison County Prosecutor Michael Wulff filed charges against April Holcomb (43) of Bethany alleging Stealing (Felony). An affidavit from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department alleges that the defendant stole at least $34,048.20 from the Ridgeway School District via fraudulent payroll checks and fraudulent use of an MFA fuel card.

On May 16th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 53 year old Grant City man was injured at around 1:10 pm on 169 when his motorcycle collided with a turkey and overturned.

On May 16th, Caldwell County Prosecutor Brady Kopek filed charges against Christian Derrickson (26) of Hamilton alleging Child Endangerment (Felony). An affidavit from the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department alleges that while the defendant was sleeping in a nearby house, his two small children, dressed only in diapers, wandered off to the Hy-Klas grocery store without supervision. Bond was set at $10,000, cash only. Defendant may have no contact with the victims. The defendant was also held on a DeKalb County warrant for Failure to Appear (Domestic Assault). Bond in that case was set at $2,500, cash only.

On May 16th, Joseph Robinson (26) of Chillicothe pleaded guilty in Daviess County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of Assault. He was sentenced to 48 hours in jail with credit for time served by Judge Micha Lea Dixon.

On May 16th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Brian Hedrick of Pattonsburg alleging Property Damage (Felony). An affidavit from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department alleges the defendant, since 2022, had been dumping water on a neighboring property, resulting in the flooding of several acres of cropland. Damages were estimated at $1,300.

On May 16th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Kayla O’Hollearn (31) of Grimes (IA) in Daviess County on a charge of DWI.

On May 16th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against David Kay Cole (61) of Stanberry alleging Driving While Revoked (Felony) and Harassment. Bond was set at $2,000, cash or corporate surety.

On May 17th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Norman Owens (62) of Altamont alleging Resisting Arrest (Felony), DWI (.298% Blood Alcohol Content), Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway, and Failure to Yield to Emergency Vehicle. Bond was denied.

On May 17th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Benjamin DeMott (37) of Maryville alleging Assault (Felony). Bond was set at $20,000, cash or corporate surety.

On May 18th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Piper Hunt (21) of Burlington Junction in Nodaway County on charges of DWI, Speeding, and Failure to Place Vehicle Not in Motion as Near Right Hand Side of Road as Practicable.

On May 19th, Christopher Wiederholt (65) of Conception Junction pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Circuit Court to charges of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony) and Driving While Revoked. He was sentenced to 7 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections by Judge Corey Herron.

On May 19th, Judge Micha Lea Dixon issued an arrest warrant for Sarah Spears (35) of Grant City in Daviess County Associate Circuit Court following receipt of a bond violation report. Bond was denied. The defendant had been out on bond on charges of four counts Endangering the Welfare of a Child (1 Felony), Harassment (Felony), Assault, Trespassing, and Peace Disturbance.

On May 19th, Judge Micha Lea Dixon issued an arrest warrant for Christopher Huffman (36) of Jamesport following receipt of a bond violation report. Defendant had been out on bond on charges of Assault and Resisting Arrest. Bond was denied.

On May 19th, William Tyler (53) of Wathena (KS) pleaded guilty in Harrison County Circuit Court to charges of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony) and No Seat Belt. He was placed on five years probation and fined $10 plus court costs by Judge Matthew Krohn.

On May 19th, Amanda Franklin (40) of Benson (MN) pleaded guilty in Harrison County Circuit Court to charges of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was sentenced to two years in the Missouri Department of Corrections with credit for 124 days served.

On May 19th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Dusten Sloan (26) of Rayville (MO) alleging Making a Terrorist Threat (Felony), Peace Disturbance, and Disrupting a House of Worship. Bond was denied.

On May 19th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Richard Mowry (38) of Albany alleging Failure to Register as Sex Offender (Felony). Bond was set at $10,000, cash or corporate surety, posted by the defendant.

Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
