Arianna Owens Wins 1600 at 275 Meet

A new star is rising in North Nodaway if she continues to work at it. Only a sixth grader, Arianna Owens won the 1600 in the Highway 275 meet. She has won that event all year for the Mustangs. She is also strong in basketball and softball.

At the Highway 275 meet in Mound City Tuesday, May 6th, Owens won with a time of 6:00.08, a varsity-level time. It would have placed her third in the varsity event. Teammate Zoey Pearson was third with a time of 6:19.82.

For the boys, Jackson Keho was fourth in the 400 with a time of 57.57. Conner Pearson was fifth in the 1600 with a time of 5:37.82. Marek Stevens was third in the High Jump with a height of 1.56 meters. Gannon Stricker was third in the Shot Put with a throw of 9.84 meters. Jackson Keho was fifth in the Triple Jump with a jump of 10.14 meters.

The boys 4x400 relay team of Marek Stevens, Hudson Alexander, Conner Pearson, and Jackson Keho was third with a time of 4:24.86.
