The Parnell Class of 1939

The Parnell Class of 1939 consisted of Ilah Frances Anderson, Georgine Arnold, Virginia Marie Berg, Bonnie June Burns, Alva Sylvester Crenshaw, Beulah Irene Crenshaw, Porter A. Evans Jr., Phyllis Funk, Forrest Fay Hammond, Helen B. Louise McCrery, Rosalie M. Miller, Susann M. Mitchell, Eddie A. Porch, Lossie Porch, Florence Edith Pritchard, and Estel Lee Scadden.

Officers were Porter A. Evans Jr. (President), Helen B. Louise McCrery (Vice-President), and Phyllis Funk (Secretary/Treasurer). The Class Flower was the Old Rose, class colors were Rose and Blue, and the Class Motto was, “Build for character, not for fame.”

Diplomas were signed by Superintendent R.E. Houston, Board President Joseph S. Matteson, Principal Mildred Virginia Wiles, and Secretary W.C. Timmerman. Everybody who graduated got a personalized program.
