Evelyn Groom was the oldest woman at the Allendale Fourth of July Breakfast and Jack Cottrell was the oldest man Friday.
There were people from all over the country, including Florida, Texas, Colorado, Wisconsin, and California present.
The youngest boy was Jesse Schrock, two months old, son of Dillon Schrock. The youngest girl was Ainsley Runde, daughter of Alaina (Freeman) Runde of Ravenwood.
Pastor Pudge and the Redneck Revival performed for the second year in a row.
Mayor Kevin Harding gave the welcome.
Among the veterans recognized were Bill Calhoon, Paul Myers, Ralph Kobbe, Jack Cottrell, Ron Richards, Mike Fletchall, Jeff Ruckman, along with Bob Courtney, aka Pastor Pudge, who served on the USS Blue Ridge.
The farthest away was Dean Olney, who came from Sacramento (CA).
Jim Motsinger, who graduated in 1961 and who now lives in Houston, came up to visit along with two of his sons.
The weather cooperated for the event; it was nice and warm. Around 500 people showed up, and there was enough breakfast for everyone for the 61st edition. People still missed the late J.W. Harding, who emceed the event for over 40 years.
