Area Courthouse, Police, and Crime Reports for July 30th, 2025

On July 20th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2007 Ford Explorer was eastbound on Route 136 one mile east of Maryville at around 10:25 am. A 2006 Dodge Magnum attempted to turn south onto Kildeer Road and collided with the Explorer. A 56 year old woman from Maryville and a 45 year old man from Kincaid (KS) were injured.

On July 23rd, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Ashley Swinney (32) of King City alleging Receiving Stolen Property (Felony). Bond was set at $2,000, cash or corporate surety, posted by the defendant. An affidavit from the King City Police Department alleges the defendant stole packages containing rims, tires, and a Whirlpool range intended for someone else. On July 25th, Prosecutor Jones filed charges against Matthew Thomas (43) of King City alleging Receiving Stolen Property. Bond was set at $10,000, cash or corporate surety. Defendant may have no contact with co-defendant, victim, or witnesses. Defendant must serve house arrest unless going to court, meeting attorney, or going to work.

On July 23rd, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Dawn Muncy (48) of Quitman alleging Delivery of Controlled Substance (Felony) and Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony). Bond was set at $50,000, cash or corporate surety. On July 28th, the defendant was released on her own recognizance.

On July 24th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Vengalrao Yelluri (25) of Maryville alleging Violation of a Protection Order.

On July 24th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter dismissed charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Kidnapping against Austin Jerome (26) of Clarinda.

On July 24th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Krystal Kelly (30) of Maryville alleging Harassment.

On July 24th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Craig Roberts (55) of Maryville alleging Failure to Register as Sex Offender (Felony). Bond was set at $5,000 signature bond. Defendant shall remain in custody until he has updated his sex offender registration. Subsequently, on July 25th, the defendant was released on his own recognizance.

On July 24th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Larry Miller (32) of Skidmore alleging Trespassing.

On July 24th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Christian Fetterer (19) of Skidmore alleging Stealing (Felony). An affidavit from the Maryville Police Department alleges the defendant stole $826.02 in merchandise from the Maryville Wal-Mart.

On July 24th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Harry Guest (47) of Maryville alleging DWI (Felony).

On July 24th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Garrett Coats (24) of Maryville alleging Burglary (Felony). Bond was denied. An affidavit from the Maryville Police Department alleges the defendant, who believed the victim owed him money, broke into the victim’s apartment and stole various electronic equipment valued at between $790 and $1390.

On July 25th, Harrison County Prosecutor Michael Wulff filed charges against Alisha Dandron (34) alleging two counts Sexual Exploitation of a Minor (Felony).

On July 26th, a Grant City resident reported on Facebook that there was a loud explosion in town. It was someone setting off fireworks by the Pool Park. Grant City ordinances do not allow shooting off fireworks in city limits out of season.

On July 26th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 45 year old Lexington woman received minor injuries after her motorcycle hit a patch of loose gravel at Route Y and Hamilton Street in Winston and overturned.

On July 26th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Angela Herman (55) of Winston in Daviess County on a Gentry County Warrant (Driving While Revoked).

On July 27th, KCUR reported that Sandra Hemme filed a lawsuit against the City of St. Joseph and eight police officers. She spent 43 years in prison for a 1980 murder which she did not commit. She alleges that the St. Joseph Police Department ignored evidence pointing to one of their officers, Michael Holman, and coerced her into a false confession. She was exonerated and freed last year. She alleges that officers knew she was on powerful antipsychotic medication during her eight interrogations and took advantage of her vulnerability.

On July 28th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Sianna Glass (18) of Hutchinson (KS) in Daviess County on charges of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony), Minor in Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On July 28th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Clayton McKinnon (73) of Jameson alleging Failure to Register as Sex Offender. An affidavit from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department alleges the defendant traveled to Las Vegas without notifying them and attempted to produce pornography with a minor under 14. The defendant was arrested and also faces charges in Nevada. Bond was denied.

On July 28th, Judge Corey Herron ordered the release of Kenneth Turner (30) of Skidmore effective on or before August 22nd to serve five years probation. Turner had been sentenced to 10 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for two counts Delivery of Controlled Substance (Felony), but the court retained jurisdiction for 120 days. The DOC recommended that the defendant be released to probation. 

On July 28th, the Maryville Forum reported that an air conditioner at a house on Thompson Street in Maryville ignited a fire. The Maryville Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire quickly, saving part of the house. A woman, two of her dogs, and her cat all survived.

Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
