The Little Mr. & Miss Hopkins Contest is open to children who were in the North Nodaway Kindergarten class this year and those who will be in the North Nodaway Kindergarten class next year. Registration forms must be turned in to Rick’s Country Shoppe or emailed to kaylew68@gmail.com by July 24th.
The contest will begin the Hopkins Picnic at 7 pm Thursday, August 7th at the main stage. Contestants should be there by 6:45 pm.
In order to make the pageant fair for everyone, we are asking that your child wear semi-formal clothing. In other words, please do not dress your child in a long dress or tuxedo. On the other end of the scale, it would be best not to wear jeans and a t-shirt. This leaves a great deal of freedom for you and your child to choose an outfit for the festivities.
Judges are chosen from outside the community and children will be evaluated based on appearance, friendliness, and interview.
Responsibilities of Little Mr. and Miss Hopkins:
—Participate in the Hopkins Picnic Parade Saturday morning, August 9th;
—Participate in the North Nodaway Homecoming;
—Crown next year’s Little Mr. & Miss Hopkins.
There may be other opportunities to participate in community events not listed above.
