This November 4th, 2025, the City of Blockton will be holding our municipal regular city election. This year’s election for the position of Mayor and two (2) Council seats will be on the ballot, the Mayor holds a 2-year term and the Council members hold a 4-year term. The current Mayor seat on the ballot is held by Lincoln Wall and the current Council seats are held by Richard Brown and Steve Henson.
Candidates must be eligible electors of the City of Blockton, Iowa which means they must reside within the city limits, be a US citizen, be of legal voting age and have not been convicted of a felony or other infamous crime for which your rights have not been restored by the Governor of the State of Iowa or the President of the United States.
Each candidate must file an affidavit of candidacy and nomination petitions with the Taylor County Iowa Auditor’s office no earlier than Monday August 25th, 2025, by no later than Thursday September 18th, 2025, 5:00pm. A minimum of 10 signatures is required on the nomination papers. You may visit the City Hall, any Courthouse in Iowa or the Secretary of State website under City Elections for nomination papers.
The election on November 4th, 2025 will take place at the Taylor County Courthouse, 405 Jefferson Street, Bedford, Iowa.
