Junior High Tiger Teams Sweep Home Quad Meet

Worth County’s junior high teams swept a home quad last Monday, with the girls beating out Platte Valley and the boys edging out Stanberry.

For the girls, Worth County had 87 points, followed with Platte Valley with 60. Albany had 39, while Stanberry had 36. On the boys side, Worth County had 73 points. Stanberry had 60, Platte Valley 47, and Albany 38.

The girls placed two in the 100. Brooklyn Richardson was second with a time of 14.93, while Becca Smith was third with a time of 15.14. In the 200, Richardson was third with a time of 30.68. Hailey Adwell was fourth with a time of 30.90, while Autumn Cousatte was fifth with a time of 32.63.
Hailey Adwell won the 400 by over four seconds as she got a time of 1:05.28. Worth County was 1-2 in the 100 Hurdles as Brooklyn Richardson won with a time of 19.34. Becca Smith was second with a time of 20.77.

The 4x100 team of Claire McElvain, Liz Brown, Kynah Steele, and ZeeAnna Gladstone was second with a time of 1:04.21. The 4x400 team of Ali Brown, Becca Smith, Autumn Cousatte, and Hailey Adwell won with a time of 5:11.20.

The Tigers placed three in the High Jump as Ali Brown was second with a jump of 4’2”. ZeeAnna Gladstone was third with a jump of 4 feet, while Kynah Steele was tied for fourth with a jump of 3’10”. Worth County swept the Pole Vault as Claire McElvain won with a vault of 7’6”. Liz Brown was second and Brooklyn Richardson was third, both with vaults of 5’6”. Becca Smith was fifth in the Long Jump with a jump of 12’6”. The girls placed three in the Triple Jump as Ali Brown won with a jump of 30 feet. ZeeAnna Gladstone was second with a jump of 27’11½”, and Kynah Steele was fourth with a jump of 24’7½”.

In the throwing events, Ali Brown was fourth in the Shot Put with a throw of 30’4”. Kynah Steele was fifth with a throw of 29’1”. Taylor Sanders won the Discus with a throw of 75’7”. Autumn Cousatte was third with a throw of 63’7”, while Kara Staton was fourth with a throw of 63’6”.

For the boys, Levi Cassavaugh was fifth in the 100 with a time of 14.02. Cassavaugh was second in the 200 with a time of 28.13. Wyatt Craven was fourth with a time of 30.27, while Tyler New was fifth with a time of 30.81. In the 400, Jon Galanakis was third with a time of 1:03..95. Colt Cameron was fifth with a time of 1:07.18. Cameron was fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:56.21. Cash Jacobs was fifth in the 1600 with a time of 6:40.86.

The Tigers placed three in the 100 Hurdles. Wyatt Craven was third with a time of 19.18. Levi Cassavaugh was fourth with a time of 19.36. Braxton Hightshoe was fifth with a time of 20.27.
In the relays, the 4x100 team of Elias Alarcon, Cash Jacobs, Landon Moser, and Damian Roush was third with a time of 1:01.29.

The Tigers were 1-2 in the High Jump. Jon Galanakis won with a jump of 5’2”. Braxton Hightshoe was second with a jump of 4’10”. Worth County was also 1-2 in the Pole Vault, with Levi Cassavaugh first with a vault of 8 feet, and Tyler New second with a vault of 7 feet. Jon Galanakis was fifth in the Long Jump with a jump of 15’9½”. The Tigers were 1-2 in the Triple Jump as Wyatt Craven won with a jump of 32’6”. Jon Galanakis was second with a jump of 30’8”.

Jase Latham won the Shot Put with a throw of 38’6”. Elias Alarcon was third with a throw of 31’3”.The Tigers won the other throwing event as well, as Colt Cameron won with a throw of 110’7”. Jase Latham was second with a throw of 107’11”, while Elias Alarcon was fifth with a throw of 94’3”.
