Junior High Tiger Boys Win at Rock Port; Girls Third

Worth County’s junior high girls were third in the Rock Port meet Thursday as East Atchison and South Harrison ran away with the meet, while the boys edged out North Andrew for first place.
For the girls, East Atchison had 101 team points. South Harrison had 86, Worth County 62, Albany 58, North Andrew 46, Mound City 42, Rock Port 25, South/Nodaway Holt 23, Union Star 18, and North/West Nodaway 4.

For the boys, Worth County had 95, North Andrew 91, South Harrison 52.33, Mound City 50.22, Albany 49, Rock Port 36, South/Nodaway-Holt 35.33, North/West Nodaway 27, Union Star 18, and East Atchison 11.

For the girls, Hailey Adwell was fifth in the 100 with a time of 14.96. Autumn Cousatte was sixth in the 200 with a time of 32.24. Autumn Cousatte was fifth in the 400 with a time of 1:12.88. Hailey Adwell ran away with the 800, winning by almost six seconds with a time of 2:38.97. Brooklyn Richardson was third in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 18.79.

In the relays, the 4x100 team of Becca Smith, Ali Brown, Brooklyn Richardson, and Hailey Adwell was fifth with a time of 59.03. The 4x200 team of Autumn Cousatte, Becca Smith, Ali Brown, and Brooklyn Richardson was second with a time of 2:04.18.

Claire McElvain continued to win the Pole Vault, getting a winning height of 7’6”. Ali Brown was second in the Triple Jump with a jump of 28’5½”. Brown was fifth in the Shot Put with a throw of 30’8”, while Kara Staton was sixth with a throw of 29’9¾”. Kara Staton was third in the Discus with a throw of 70’4”, while Taylor Sanders was fourth with a throw of 69’2”.

For the boys, Colt Cameron was second in the 100 with a time of 13.14. Levi Cassavaugh won the 400 with a time of 1:00.61. The Tigers placed two in the 100 Hurdles as Wyatt Craven was second with a time of 18.64, while Braxton Hightshoe was fourth with a time of 18.88.

The 4x200 team of Tyler New, Wyatt Craven, Levi Cassavaugh, and Colt Cameron was fourth with a time of 1:52.39. The 4x400 team of Levi Cassavaugh, Wyatt Craven, Jon Galanakis, and Tyler New was second with a time of 4:26.86.

In the High Jump, Jon Galanakis was second with a jump of 5 feet. Levi Cassavaugh was second in the Pole Vault with a vault of 8 feet; Tyler New was fifth with a vault of 7’6”. Jon Galanakis was second in the Long Jump with a jump of 16’6½”. Galanakis was second in the Triple Jump with a jump of 31’5½, while Wyatt Craven was fourth with a jump of 29’7½”.

The Tigers placed two in the Shot Put as Jase Lathan was second with a throw of 41’3”. Cole Cameron was fourth with a throw of 36’3”. In the Discus, Colt Cameron was fifth with a throw of 103’5”, while Jase Latham was sixth with a throw of 101’7”.
