Courthouse News for April 24th, 2019

On April 9th, Sam Walling (53) of Decatur (IA) reported to the Ringgold County Jail to serve two days for a previous DWI conviction. Upon his arrival the jailer could smell the odor of alcohol coming from his person. The officer arrived at the jail and could also smell the odor of alcohol. Mr. Walling admitted that he had two drinks before arriving at the jail. Mr. Walling was charged with public intoxication and on 4-10-19 the defendant pleaded guilty and was given two more days in county jail. The defendant shall have the other two days completed within 14 days.

On April 11th, Special Prosecutor Barbara Klima filed charges against Modanna Meyer of Chillicothe in Gentry County alleging Non-Support.

On April 12, 2019, Jordan Richman 25 of Diagonal, IA was arrested for eluding in Diagonal, IA. Deputies attempted to stop Richman for speeding when he eluded. Richman was released from the Ringgold County Jail on bond.

On April 13th, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office and the Ringgold County Medical Examiner investigated the death of 50 year old Bernerd Joseph Rothman, of 1657 Main Street Delphos, Iowa. The Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office was contacted for a welfare check. Rothman was discovered deceased upon officer’s arrival. An autopsy will be performed at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny, IA. The cause of death is pending autopsy results. No foul play is suspected. Anyone with information please call Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office.

On April 15th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Ahmad Masoumi (39) of St. Paul (MN) in Harrison County on a Newton County Warrant for Failure to Appear.

On April 16th, Worth County Prosecutor Janet Wake Larison filed charges against Dustin Wiley (42) of Mount Ayr alleging No Valid License and Ignition Interlock Violation.

On April 16th, Worth County Prosecutor Janet Wake Larison filed charges against Scott Thurman (42) of Mount Ayr alleging No Valid License, Possession of Marijuana, and Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway.

On April 16th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Braxton Koehn (22) of Kansas City alleging Endangering the Welfare of a Child, DWI (Person Less than 17 in Vehicle), Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond was set at $500 with the defendant released on his own recognizance.

On April 16th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Cynthia Williams-Marshall (24) of Kansas City alleging Failure to Register.

On April 17th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Melissa Percell (38) of Grant City in Worth County alleging No Valid License, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Kyle Turner, 31 of New Market was arrested on April 16, 2019 at the Taylor County Law Enforcement Center. He was charged with Child Endangerment Causing Bodily Injury and is being held with no bond pending an appearance with the magistrate.

On April 17th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Collins Straight (37) of Worth in Worth County on a Out of State Warrant for Parole Violation.

On April 17th, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Raymond Breer (27) of Ridgeway alleging Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony), Possession of Marijuana (Prior), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Prior).

On April 18th, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Tacoma Clowers (20) of Lamoni alleging Possession of Marijuana and Speeding (20-25 mph).

On April 18th, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Brian Ward (46) of Hamilton alleging No Financial Responsibility.

On April 18th, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Brendon Wenger (26) of Hawkeye (IA) alleging No Interstate Motor Fuel User’s License. On April 22nd, Wenger pleaded guilty and was fined $57.50 plus court costs.

On April 18th, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Juan Montalvo (48) of Orlando (FL) alleging No Valid Interstate Motor Fuel User’s License. On April 22nd, Montalvo pleaded guilty and was fined $55.50 plus court costs.

 On April 18, 2019 at 4:30 pm in rural Lamoni, Ringgold County deputies tried to stop Timothy Newton for driving while barred. Newton fled taking deputies on a 3-mile long chase before crashing at 320 AVE and 320 ST in Ringgold County. Newton was arrested and booked into the Ringgold County Jail for Driving while Barred and Eluding. Newton was released on $2,000 bond.

On April 18th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Lindsey Dirks (22) of Redding in Worth County on charges of No Valid License and No Insurance.

On April 18th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Michelle Riley (53) of Bedford alleging Passing a Bad Check.

On April 18th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Delmond Williams (35) of Maryville alleging Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident).

On April 18th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Tori Dawson (26) of Barnard alleging Property Damage (Felony).

On April 18th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Cody Evans (27) of Maryville alleging Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On April 18th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Zachary Wiechman (27) of Maryville alleging Stealing.

On April 19th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Dawson White (18) of Sheridan alleging Minor in Possession and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On April 19th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Tonya Wilson (30) of Albany alleging Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident).

On April 20th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Charles Sipes (18), a homeless man from St. Joseph, alleging Assault.

Sebastian Sweat, 19, of Blockton was arrested on April 20, 2019 in the 500 block of Oak Street in Blockton. He was charged with Disorderly Conduct and is being held at the Taylor County Jail on $300 bond.

On April 20th, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Zachary Offield (19) of Bethany alleging Delivery of Marijuana (Felony).

On April 21st, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Mathew Flowers (32) of Albany in Gentry County alleging Speeding (95 mph), No Registration, and DWI.

On April 21st, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Robert Parsons (20) of Parnell in Nodaway County on charges of Speeding and Minor Visibly Intoxicated.

On April 22nd, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Brooke Dillivan (19) of Albany alleging two counts Passing a Bad Check.

On April 23rd, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Angela Ranes (43) of King City alleging Passing a Bad Check.

Charges listed are mere allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
