PSC Approves Permit for United Services to Provide Sewer in Maryville Area

The Missouri Public Service Commission has granted United Services, Inc., a certificate of convenience and necessity (CCN) to construct, install, own, operate and maintain sewer systems for the public in unincorporated areas of Andrew and Nodaway counties.

United Services, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of United Electric Cooperative, Inc.   The Commission granted a CCN determining: 1) There is a need for the service; 2) United Services, Inc. is qualified to provide the proposed service; 3) United Services, Inc. has the financial ability to provide the service; 4) United Services, Inc.’s proposal is economically feasible; and 5) The service promotes the public interest.

Five of the sewer systems serving approximately 70 customers are located near Maryville.  One sewer system, serving approximately 30 customers, is located near Savannah.  Four sewer systems serving approximately 190 customers are located near St. Joseph, Missouri.  In this case, United Services, Inc. proposes to retain existing sewer rates for customers at this time.
