Maryville Man Seriously Injured, Lifeflighted in Wreck Near Barnard

A Maryville man was seriously injured in a wreck near Barnard Sunday and lifeflighted. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 1997 Buick Skylark driven by Jimmy Lake (50) of Maryville was southbound on 71 at around 2:56 pm four miles west of Barnard when he lost control, traveled off the east side of the roadway, went over an embankment, and struck a concrete culvert. The vehicle came to rest on its wheels facing southwest. Lake received serious injuries in the accident and was lifeflighted to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
