Myrna Stephenson 1934-2025

Myrna Joan (Johnson) Reinhart Stephenson, 90, passed away February 8, 2025. She was born April 17,1934 to Eddie and Dorothy (Martinson) Johnson in Mallard Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mallard and on September 7th,1953 married her high school sweetheart, Raymond Reinhart there. They began to farm on Raymond’s family farm at Havelock, Iowa and raised their two children, Rebecca Joann and Paul Allen Reinhart there. In 1979 they moved to Darlington Mo. Ray passed away in August of 1980. 

Myrna later married Dick Stephenson and worked with him for many years at Dick’s MFA in Albany, MO. 

She loved being outdoors especially on the golf course. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews were the joy of her life.  She loved the Lord with all her heart and was always very active in her church both in Iowa and Missouri.

She is survived by her daughter, Becky & husband, Butch Flaherty, her son Paul Reinhart, both of Albany, MO; daughter-in-law Peg Reinhart of Portola, CA; stepson, Eric (Rick) Stephenson of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Matthew (Flag) Flaherty, Maryville, MO; Megan Flaherty, Kellie & husband, Tim Runnels of Albany and Jacob Reinhart, Portola, CA; great-grandchildren, Paige Runnels, Maitland, MO; Truman Runnels, Albany and Turner Reinhart, St. Jospeh, MO; sisters, Sandra and husband Steve Jones, Havelock, IA; Wanda Schuler, Boone, IA; brother that she never had, Kenny and wife Dorothy Lyons, Mallard, IA; as well as nieces, nephews and her “church granddaughter” April Bupp.

Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bobby Gene Johnson, her first husband Raymond Reinhart and her second husband Dick Stephenson and brothers and sisters in law.

Funeral Services were 11:00 AM Friday, February 14 at Hope Lutheran Church in Bethany. A Graveside Service and Burial will be held Wednesday, February 19 at 1:00 PM at Washington Cemetery, Havelock, IA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hope Lutheran Church or Trinity Lutheran Church in care of the Roberson-Polley Chapel, 403 N. Hundley, Albany, MO 64402.
