Area Courthouse, Police, and Crime Reports for January 29th, 2025

On January 21st, Jaquilla Scott (19) of Maryville failed to appear in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court on a charge of Stealing. A warrant was issued and bond set at $451, cash only.

On January 21st, William Finn (44) of Maryville failed to appear in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court on a charge of Violation of Protection Order. A warrant was issued and bond set at $500, cash only.

On January 21st, Chase Davidson (22) of Maryville pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of DWI (Prior). He was sentenced to 10 days in jail by Judge Robert Rice with credit for time served.

On January 21st, Devin Karr (20) of Union Star pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of DWI. He was placed on two years probation by Judge Robert Rice. Defendant must not possess or consume alcoholic beverages, enter any establishment whose primary purpose is the sale of alcoholic beverages, and successfully complete SATOP.

On January 21st, Michael Jacobs (33) of Maryville failed to appear in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court on a charge of Domestic Assault (Felony). A warrant was issued and bond set at $500, cash only.

On January 22nd, the Bethany Republican-Clipper reported the arrest of a 16 year old boy on charges that he allegedly broke the driver’s side window of a 2012 Volkswagen and attempted to set it on fire.

On January 22nd, the Bethany Republican-Clipper reported that Etta-Jean Hunsicker (62) of Blythedale was killed in a house fire at her home.

On January 22nd, Christyan Gardner (24) of Guilford pleaded guilty in Gentry County Associate Circuit Court to charges of Failure to Register and Leaving the Scene. He was placed on two years probation and assessed $415.50 in fines and costs by Judge Rebecca McGinley.

On January 22nd, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Jared Holcomb (33) of Gallatin alleging Possession of Controlled Substance (Clonazepam, Felony). Bond was set at $10,000, cash only.

On January 22nd, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Molly Cartwright-Messick (43) of Maryville alleging Possession of Methamphetamine. Bond was set at $10,000 with the defendant released on her own recognizance. Defendant must submit to testing weekly.

On January 22nd, Austin Dankenbring (31) of Waverly (MO) pleaded guilty in Harrison County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of Stealing. He was placed on two years probation and sentenced to eight days in jail by Judge Jay Hemenway.

On January 22nd, Alan McConkey (38) of Albany appeared in Gentry County Associate Circuit Court on a probation violation hearing. Defendant had been convicted of Speeding (26+ mph over) and DWI. Judge Rebecca McGinley continued the defendant on probation with SCRAM alcohol monitoring ordered for 90 days.

On January 23rd, Caldwell County Associate Circuit Judge Jason Kanoy issued a warrant for Tyson Frame (23) of Hamilton following a bond violation report. Bond was denied. Frame has been charged with Harassment (Felony), Stealing, Domestic Assault, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. He had been free on bond.

On January 23rd, Harrison County Circuit Judge Matthew Krohn issued an arrest warrant for Heather Mitchell (41) of Independence after the defendant failed to appear for a probation violation hearing. Bond was set at $15,000. A violation report filed by the prosecutor alleged the defendant violated probation by testing positive for methamphetamine, cocaine, MDMA, and amphetamine. Defendant had been sentenced to three years in the Department of Corrections, but had been recalled after 120 days and placed on five years probation.

On January 23rd, Terry Parkhurst (65) of Albany failed to appear in Harrison County Circuit Court on charges of Harassment (Felony) and Sexual Misconduct. A warrant was issued and bond set at $15,000.

On January 23rd, Peggy Glenn (67) of Eagleville pleaded guilty in Harrison County Circuit Court to two counts of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony). She was placed on five years probation by Judge Matthew Krohn.

On January 23rd, Jill Cameron (54) of Bethany pleaded guilty in Harrison County Circuit Court to charges of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony) and No Seat Belt. She was placed on five years probation by Judge Matthew Krohn and fined $10. Defendant must enter and successfully complete the Third District Drug Treatment program.

On January 23rd, Jill Spatz (33) of Bethany pleaded guilty in Harrison County Circuit Court to a charge of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony). She was placed on five years probation by Judge Matthew Krohn. Defendant must enroll in and successfully complete the Third Circuit Drug Treatment Program.

On January 23rd, Ruth Boe (54) of Coffey pleaded guilty in Harrison County Circuit Court to a charge of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony) and No Seat Belt. She was fined $10 and placed on five years probation by Judge Matthew Krohn. Defendant must enroll in and successfully complete the Third Circuit Drug Treatment Program.

On January 23rd, the Missouri Attorney General’s Office announced the conviction of Loy Maxey, owner of Fresh Start Credit Services. The defendant allegedly promised people with low credit scores the opportunity to help them repair their credit scores in return for securing their assets. In fact, the defendant allegedly used the money for personal expenses. The defendant was placed on five years probation and must make $62,000 in restitution to victims.

On January 23rd, a judge handed down an 11 year sentence to Wesley Teague of DeKalb after the defendant pleaded guilty to DWI (Death of Another). On May 23rd, 2023, the defendant allegedly veered off a road in Platte County and struck a man who was trimming grass in a ditch, killing him. The defendant allegedly had a blood alcohol content of .128.

On January 25th, the Missouri Department of Transportation reported that a vehicle crash in St. Joseph caused the closure of the intersection of 169 (Belt Highway) and Karnes Road. The crash caused extensive damage to the traffic signal mast arm. Traffic on Karnes Road will not be able to access Belt Highway, and traffic on Belt Highway will not access Karnes Road until further notice.

On January 27th, Larry Miller (32) of Skidmore failed to appear in Nodaway County Circuit Court on charges of Burglary (Felony), Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony), Unlawful Use of Weapon (Felony), and Assault. A warrant was issued and bond was denied.

On January 27th, Judge Robert Rice issued a warrant in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court for Molly Cartwright-Messick (43) of Maryville alleging failure to abide by bond conditions. Bond was denied. She is facing a charge of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony).

On January 27th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Kourtney Bird (29) of Gallatin alleging Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Felony) and Delivery of Marijuana (Child Under 17, Felony). Bond was set at $5,000, cash only. Defendant is to have no contact with victim or with any minor under 18.

On January 27th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Jesse Gray (48) of Gallatin alleging Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Felony), Delivery of Marijuana (Child Under 17, Felony), and Witness Tampering (Felony). An affidavit from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department alleges the charges arose after phone monitoring at the Daviess DeKalb Regional Jail while the defendant was being held on other charges.

Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
