Rylee Ruckman Hangs 15 on Panthers; Annabelle Garder Bright Spot for Pattonsburg

Rylee Ruckman hung 15 points on Pattonsburg Tuesday, February 3rd and Keira Hardy added 10 as Worth County's girls moved past a brutal week that included losses to Nodaway Valley and Rock Port. Annabelle Gardner did all she could for Pattonsburg, keeping them in the game, getting 15 for the Panthers. Kinsley Johnson nearly got a triple-double, adding 8 points and 10 blocks. 

The focus of the Panthers was to shut down Kristen Tracy and Audrey Runde, but Rylee Ruckman got open early in the corner for three. Audrey Runde added a pullup and a 3-pointer and Keira Hardy drove down the left side to make it 10-2. By Pattonsburg's first timeout, Worth County was already dominating the boards 11-5; they would go on to outrebound the Panthers 51-39. 

Ruckman hit her second 3-pointer of the quarter before Gardner finally stopped the bleeding with a steal and drive to cut it to 13-4. Pattonsburg had been there before, trailing 13-3 at one point to North Harrison before coming back, but Megan Tracy got loose to start the second quarter and make it 16-4.

The Panthers hung around for a while after the Tigers went ice cold, but Ruckman added her third triple after Kinsley Johnson's free throw had cut it to 16-5. Annabelle Gardner countered with a steal to make it 16-7, but Kambree Briner hit a shot from the left wing after Kristen Tracy got an offensive board, Kambree Briner hit Kristen Tracy in the high post, and Keira Hardy scored off a Kambree Briner steal to make it 25-7.

Jayden Goble was shaken up trying to get the ball away from Kristen Tracy, and Tracy knocked one down from the high post to make it 27-7, but then she picked up her second foul trying to guard Kinsley Johnson, who converted a three point play to spark a Panther rally. Annabelle Gardner got a putback to make it 27-12. Rylee Ruckman broke the run with her fourth 3-pointer before Gardner got a steal and drive to make it 30-14 at the half.

The second half started off well for Pattonsburg as Jayden Goble got on the board to start the third and Kinsley Johnson got loose in transition to make it 31-18. But then Keira Hardy, not normally a scoring machine for the Tigers, suddenly got the hot hand, scoring six straight to push it back up to 37-18. Kambree Briner scored off a drive, Kristen Tracy got one over Johnson, and Rylee Ruckman hit her fifth 3-pointer of the night to give the Tigers their biggest lead of the night at 44-18.

Rylee Ruckman had 15 points. Keira Hardy had 10, Audrey Runde, Kambree Briner, and Kristen Tracy all had 6, and Megan Tracy had 3.

Audrey Runde and Megan Tracy each had 1 block.

Kambree Briner had a career high of 13 boards. Kristen Tracy had 11, Megan Tracy 8, Rylee Ruckman and Rayleigh Smith had 7, Keira Hardy 3, and Audrey Runde 2.

Kambree Briner had 6 assists. Keira Hardy and Kristen Tracy had 3, Rylee Ruckman and Audrey Runde had 2, and Megan Tracy had 1.

Kambree Briner had 7 tips. Megan Tracy had 6, Kristen Tracy, Audrey Runde, and Keira Hardy had 5, Rylee Ruckman 2, and Rayleigh Smith 1.

Megan Tracy had 8 steals. Kambree Briner and Kristen Tracy had 4, Audrey Runde 2, and Rayleigh Smith and Rylee Ruckman had 1.

For Pattonsburg, Annabelle Gardner had 15, Kinsley Johnson 8, and Jayden Goble 2.

Kinsley Johnson had 10 blocks.

Annabelle Gardner had 11 to complete a double-double. Kinsley Johnson had 10, Addie Iddings 7, Cheyenne Miller 4, Carlie Pittsenbarger 3, and Jayden Goble and Taylen Fore 2.
