Karl Bernhard Wolbert, 85, of Maryville, MO passed from this life on February 6, 2025, at the KU Med Center, Kansas City, KS, surrounded by his children.
Karl was born in Leer Germany on July 15, 1939, to Anton and Johanna (Pieper) Wolbert. He came to the United States in 1961.
In 1963 he married Edeltraud “Trudy” Himmer and they were married for 58 years. Karl worked in construction most of his life starting with Midwest Precast before starting his own construction business and later owning and operating Swede Redi-Mix in Maryville, MO. Karl and Trudy were avid hunters and enjoyed many elk hunting trips to Wyoming.
Karl is preceded in death by his wife Trudy, his parents, sister Hedwig Schmidt, brothers Heinrich Wolbert and Tonius Pieper.
Those left to cherish his memory include children Sandy (Chris) Seipel of Ravenwood, Mo; Sonja (Andrew) Finkelstein, Kansas City, Mo; Michael (Kristi) Wolbert, Platte, City, Mo. Grandchildren, Brad (Tanna) Seipel, Braxten and Adrianna, Matthew (Jessica) Seipel, Jenny (Derek) Stiens, Jackson (Luka) Henggeler, Merritt Henggeler, Kendra Henggeler, Mitchell Wolbert, Natalie Wolbert, sisters in law Maria Pieper, Billerbeck, Germany and Dagmar (Robert) Whipple, Pickering, MO and many nieces and nephews.
Karl was cremated under the direction of Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, Mo.
A Parish and family memorial prayer service will be held at St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11 am. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Please join the family in the Parish Hall following the service for dinner and to share stories of Karl’s life and adventures.
