Pattonsburg Breaks Into Rankings; Tigers Rise

There are finally some shakeups in the rankings this week. Pattonsburg broke into the rankings with their 58-42 win over King City Friday, handing the Wildkats their first loss. Worth County leapfrogged Archie to third after their 72-26 win over St. Joseph Christian.

The ranks of the unbeaten dwindled to seven teams. Rock Port, Lockwood, Nodaway Valley, Norborne/Hardin-Central, North Shelby, Pattonsburg, and Knox County are the only eight-man teams remaining undefeated. Their ranks will dwindle further as #9 Knox County and #7 North Shelby play each other Friday.

Mound City also has a chance to break into the rankings. If they beat Nodaway Valley Friday, they will have a chance to break in. They have not lost since losing to Pattonsburg during the second week of the season.

Rock Port remains on top at 6-0. They play South Holt this week. Lockwood is ranked second at 6-0. They face New Heights this week. Worth County is third this week. They place Stanberry for Homecoming. #4 Archie plays Jasper this week. Nodaway Valley is ranked fifth. NHC is ranked sixth and faces Keytesville. North Shelby is seventh. Pattonsburg is ranked eighth and faces a trap game at St. Joseph Christian this Friday before their October 17th showdown with Worth County. Knox County is ninth. Appleton City is tenth and faces Liberal. Also receiving votes were Northwest Hughesville, King City, and Mound City.
