Chance Jacobs 2002-2025

LCPL Chance Anthony Jacobs was born December 4, 2002 to Ed Jacobs and Diania Sanders in Maryville, Missouri.  He graduated from Worth County in 2021.

Chance has spent the last three years in San Diego, California at Camp Pendleton as an active-duty United States Marine.  But was raised in Sheridan, Missouri all his life.

He was united in marriage to Jenna (Smith) Jacobs on December 10, 2022.  To this union two children were born, Baylor Jacobs on August 9, 2022 and Briar Jacobs on November 12, 2024.  His children were the light of his life!  He loved every bit of being their father.

He also loved riding four wheelers, spending time with his family and friends, most likely he was carrying a football with him in case anyone was up to a game, bonfires with friends and especially the class of 2021, floating the river (was a river rat before he could walk), working cows, shooting guns, snipe hunting at the Lazy J. He was a huge Lane Frost fan and would watch 8 seconds on loop, was an avid Chiefs fan and could tell you all of the players’ stats.

Chance grew up with a built-in best friend in his brother Cash, a hunting guide in his brother Clayton and an extra mother in his sister Cheyenne as he was her baby from time he was born.

He always talked about being a Marine and he achieved his goal and became United States Marine on February 13, 2023, and was promoted to LCPL on April 1, 2024.  Chance loved with his whole heart and was deeply loved by all.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents; wife Jenna; children Baylor and Briar Jacobs; sister Cheyenne Troutwine (Brendan Moutray); brothers Clayton (Shelby) Troutwine and Cash Jacobs; nieces Teagan Saville and Dawsyn Moutray; nephews Creyton, Huck and McCoy Troutwine; grandparents Charles Sanders and David (Sherry) Evans; aunts and uncles James (Kelly) Jackson, Jason (Lisa) Krone and Keith (Julie) Cassavaugh and many cousins.  He was proceeded in death by his grandmother Connie Sanders; grandfather Edwin Jacobs; great-grandparents Joe (Kathryn) King, Don (Helen) Sanders and Roy (Marian) Rowe.

In lieu of flowers there has been a memorial fund set up at First Interstate Bank in Grant City, Missouri for Chance’s children.

Funeral Services are pending at this time.
