Cole Hardy Leads Three Tigers in Double Figures Past Pattonsburg

Cole Hardy led three Tigers in double figures past Pattonsburg as the boys followed the girls lead and breezed past the Panthers 51-7 Tuesday, October 28th.

Worth County was playing their first game of the season while Pattonsburg had some games under their belt. But it only took the Tigers two minutes to get the first-game jitters out of their system. Once that happened, Cole Hardy scored seven quick points, cashing in off steals from Jarrett Gilland and Max Hiatt and adding a 3-pointer off a pass from Gilland to make it 7-0.

That was enough to spark an avalanche as Hudson Cameron got a steal and fed Max Hiatt for two, Weston Hill got a putback, Jarrett Gilland went backdoor to score, Hudson Cameron cut inside and got a pass from Max Hiatt, Gunnar Smith got a steal and aired it out to Hudson for a score, and Cole Hardy got a steal and fed Max Hiatt at the buzzer to make it 19-0 after one.

Hudson Cameron started the scoring in the second with a 3-pointer from the top of the key after a pass from Cole Hardy, Cole got a tip-in after a Jarrett Gilland steal, Cole Hardy kicked one out to Max Hiatt for three, Cole Hardy scored off a steal and then scored off a Jarrett Gilland steal, Max Hiatt got a steal, fed Cole Hardy, who fed it back to Hiatt for two, and then the scene repeated itself throughout the rest of the half. At one point, Worth County scored off seven steals in just over a two-minute span to make it 42-0.

Gunnar Smith, normally a post player, knocked down a 3-pointer after Silas Brown got caught in traffic and kicked it out to him. Smith added a third-chance putback and then Silas Brown converted a Hudson Cameron steal to make it 49-0.

Pattonsburg finally got on the board in the second half with Thomas Warren breaking the ice with a pair of free throws and Hayes Booth adding a drive. Bentley White added a free throw and a drive for Pattonsburg before Emmett Frisch scored in transition for Worth County in a half that saw running clock action for most of the second half.
