Area Courthouse, Police, and Crime Reports for October 15th, 2025

On October 6th, Ben Marion (52) of Kansas City surrendered his probation in Nodaway County Circuit Court and was sentenced to four years in the Missouri Department of Corrections on a charge of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony) by Judge Corey Herron. Court retains jurisdiction for 120 days and the Department of Corrections will make recommendations regarding incarceration or probation. If defendant is granted probation, he must apply to the Fourth Circuit Alternative Program upon release.

On October 6th, Stevie Varner (37) of Union Star pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Circuit Court to a charge of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony). He was placed on five years probation by Judge Corey Herron.

On October 7th, Stephen Shank (73) of Smithville pleaded guilty in Daviess County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of DWI. He was fined $350 plus costs by Judge Micha Lea Dixon.

On October 7th, Judge Corey Herron recalled Cory Farrell (27) of Grant City from the Missouri Department of Corrections and placed him on five years probation effective November 7th. Defendant must attend aftercare program and obtain High School Equivalency. Defendant may not possess or consume alcoholic beverages or enter bars. Defendant had pleaded guilty in Worth County Circuit Court to a charge of Driving While Revoked (Felony).

On October 7th, Kelsey Yeager (33) of Maryville failed to appear in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court on a charge of Stealing. A warrant was issued and bond set at $150, cash only.

On October 7th, Emily Leeman (28) of Kidder pleaded guilty in Daviess County Associate Circuit Court to charges of DWI and Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway. She was fined $410.50 plus costs by Judge Micha Lea Dixon.

On October 7th, Dustin McPherson (45) of Jamesport pleaded guilty in Daviess County Associate Circuit Court to charges of DWI, No Valid License, and Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident). He was sentenced to 12 days in jail and fined $60.50 plus costs by Judge Micha Lea Dixon.

On October 7th, Christian Elliott (30) of St. Joseph pleaded guilty in Daviess County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of DWI. He was sentenced to 10 days in jail by Judge Micha Lea Dixon.

On October 7th, Hayden Ferry (21) of Maysville pleaded guilty in Holt County Circuit Court to a charge of Assault (Felony). He was placed on five years probation by Judge Corey Herron. Defendant must make restitution of $12,522.27 to the victim. Defendant may have no contact with the victim or his girlfriend. Defendant must complete anger management class. The case had been transferred from Nodaway County on a change of venue.

On October 8th, Jimmy Allen (64) of St. Joseph pleaded guilty in Daviess County Circuit Court to a charge of Tampering with Evidence (Felony). A sentencing assessment report was ordered and defendant will be sentenced at a later date.

On October 8th, Judge Matthew Krohn revoked the bond of Kendra Nupp (34) of Ridgeway following receipt of a bond violation report. A warrant was issued and bond denied. The warrant was served the next day. The defendant is facing a charge of Hindering a Prosecution (Felony) in Harrison County Circuit Court.

On October 8th, Bryan Stark (32) of Gallatin pleaded guilty in Daviess County Circuit Court to a charge of Domestic Assault. He was sentenced to four years in the Missouri Department of Corrections by Judge Daren Adkins. Court retains jurisdiction for 120 days and the Department of Corrections will make recommendations regarding probation or incarceration.

On October 8th, Randy Carlisle (40) of Cainsville pleaded guilty in Daviess County Circuit Court to a charge of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony). He was sentenced to five years in the Missouri Department of Corrections by Judge Daren Adkins. This sentence shall run in addition to all other sentences.

On October 8th, Cory Rhoads (39) of Gallatin pleaded guilty in Daviess County Circuit Court to three counts Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was placed on two years probation by Judge Daren Adkins. Defendant may have no unsupervised contact with any minor child.

On October 8th, Jerry King (64) of Jamesport pleaded guilty in Daviess County Circuit Court to a charge of No Valid License (Felony). He was placed on five years probation by Judge Daren Adkins. Defendant may not operate a motor vehicle for any reason.

On October 8th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 25 year old Grant City man was injured when the pickup he was driving ran off the side of the road on 190th Road five miles south of Grant City, striking a tree.

On October 9th, Judge Matthew Krohn recalled Jonathan Kardell (41) of New Prague (MN) from the Missouri Department of Corrections to serve five years probation following completion of a 120-day treatment program effective October 29th. The defendant had been found guilty of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony) in Harrison County Circuit Court. Defendant must attend aftercare, attend three self-help meetings per week, be screened for the 3rd Circuit Adult Treatment Program, and successfully complete the program if accepted. Defendant may not possess or consume alcohol or enter bars.

On October 9th, Judge Matthew Krohn recalled David McGhghy (63) of Oskaloosa (IA) from the Missouri Department of Corrections to serve five years probation following completion of a 120-day treatment program effective October 29th. Defendant had pleaded guilty in Harrison County Circuit Court to two counts Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony) and Forgery (Felony). Defendant must attend an aftercare program, attend at least three self-help meetings per week, enter a mental health program and follow recommendations, and take mental health medications as prescribed. Defendant may not possess or consume alcoholic beverages or enter bars.

On October 9th, Judge Corey Herron issued an arrest warrant for Tyler Guess (32) of King City following receipt of a bond violation report. Bond was denied. The defendant is facing charges for Driving While Revoked (Felony) and Speeding.

On October 9th, Nathaniel Cox (44) of Lee’s Summit pleaded guilty in Gentry County Circuit Court to a charge of Driving While Revoked. He was placed on two years probation by Judge Corey Herron and ordered to serve 10 days shock time in jail, to be served on weekends.

On October 9th, Kenneth Fairchild (53) of Gentry pleaded guilty in Gentry County Circuit Court to a charges of Stealing (Felony). He was placed on five years probation by Judge Corey Herron. Defendant must serve six days shock time to be served on weekends. Defendant must make restitution of $1,358.49 to Hy-Vee.

On October 9th, Brian Ashworth (49) of St. Joseph pleaded guilty in Gentry County Circuit Court to a charge of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony) and No Valid License. He was placed on five years probation by Judge Corey Herron. Defendant may not possess or consume alcoholic beverages or enter bars. Defendant must complete substant abuse evaluation and treatment program, serve 30 days shock time in jail to be served on weekends, submit to any reasonable request of law enforcement or probation to search vehicle or home, and donate $150 to the Gentry County Law Enforcement Restitution Fund.

On October 10th, Richard Mowry (38) of Albany pleaded guilty in Gentry County Circuit Court to two counts Failure to Register as Sex Offender (Felony). He was placed on five years probation by Judge Corey Herron.

On October 10th, Felicia Campbell (37) of St. Joseph pleaded guilty in Gentry County Circuit Court to a charge of Stealing. She was sentenced to 14 days in jail with credit for three days served.

On October 10th, Brooke Miller (28) of Omaha pleaded guilty in Gentry County Circuit Court to charges of Driving While Revoked and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was placed on one year probation by Judge Corey Herron and fined $200 plus costs.

On October 10th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Amanda Morriss (43) of Maryville alleging Distribution of Controlled Substance (Felony). Bond was denied.

On October 10th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Andrew Butcher (33) of Wiota (IA) and Justin Ward (34) of Maryville alleging Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident).

On October 10th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Kristina Kelley (48) of Savannah alleging Stealing.

On October 10th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Michael Medsker (32) of Guilford alleging DWI, Parking Vehicle in Middle of Roadway, and No Plates.

On October 10th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Andrew Farnan (36) of Maryville alleging Violation of Protection Order.

Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
