Nate Adwell Breaks School Pole Vault Record at Mound City

Nate Adwell broke the school Pole Vault record at Mound City Friday and the Worth County boys won the meet over tough competition. The girls were third.

For the boys, Worth County had 109, Stanberry 90, Mound City 79, Rock Port 56, South/Nodaway-Holt 55, East Atchison 49, Osborn 42, Platte Valley 35, Tri-County 20, St. Joseph Christian 18, Northeast Nodaway 14, North Nodaway 6, and Gallatin 4.

Nate won the Pole Vault with a height of 4.43 meters, or 14’6”. Aydan Gladstone was third with a height of 3.51 meters, or 11’6”. Braxton Hightshoe was third in the High Jump with a height of 5’7”. John Galanakis also cleared 5’7”, but finished fifth on tiebreaks. The Tigers placed two in the Long Jump as Timothy Richardson was fourth with a jump of 17’3”, and Brent Harris was fifth with a jump of 17’1”. Tyler New got a personal best in the Triple Jump and won with a jump of 35’4”. 

Jackson Runde was fourth in the Discus with a throw of 118’2”, while Jase Latham was sixth with a throw of 99’5”.

Brent Harris was sixth in the 100 with a time of 12.13. John Galanakis was sixth in the 200 with a time of 24.92. Levi Cassavaugh was fourth in the 400 with a time of 55.49. The boys continued to dominate the hurdle events as Jace Cousatte won the 110 Hurdles with a time of 17.03 and Aydan Gladstone was second with a time of 17.81. Jace Cousatte won the 300 Hurdles with a time of 46.58, while Aydan Gladstone was second with a time of 47.23. 

The 4x100 team of John Galanakis, Brent Harris, Jackson Runde, and Braxton Hightshoe was second with a time of 48.32. The 4x200 of Aydan Gladstone, Nate Adwell, Levi Cassavaugh, and Jace Cousatte was second with a time of 1:36.36. The 4x400 team of Braxton Hightshoe, Nate Adwell, Jace Cousatte, and Levi Cassavaugh was third with a time of 3:46.83.

For the girls, Platte Valley won with 94 points. DeKalb had 74.5, Worth County 69, Gallatin 62, Stanberry 54, St. Joseph Christian 53, East Atchison 49, Rock Port 47, South/Nodaway-Holt 25, Northeast Nodaway 18, Osborn 17.5, Tri-County 10, Mound City 10, and North Nodaway 6.

Rebecca Smith was sixth in the 200 with a time of 29.46. Morgan Beagle was second in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 17.72; Brooklyn Richardson was fourth with a time of 18.31. Brooklyn Richardson was third in the 300 Hurdles with a time of 52.65. 

The 4x100 team of Hailey Adwell, Brooklyn Richardson, Rebecca Smith, and Morgan Beagle was third with a time of 54.63. The 4x200 team of Hailey Adwell, Braidy Hunt, Rebecca Smith, and Morgan Beagle was second with a time of 1:55;76. The 4x400 team of Braidy Hunt, Morgan Beagle, Brooklyn Richardson, and Hailey Adwell was second with a time of 4:33.80. 

Keelin Engel won the Pole Vault with a height of 10’7”. Braidy Hunt was fourth in the Triple Jump with a jump of 31’6”. Kara Staton was second in the Discus with a throw of 99’6”. Ali Brown was fourth in the Javelin with a throw of 102’4”. Autumn Cousatte was fifth with a throw of 97’4”.

Northeast Nodaway

For the girls, Lauren McIntyre was fifth in the 100 with a time of 15.02. Jill Boswell was fifth in the 200 with a time of 29.26. Anne Schieber was third in the 800 with a personal best time of 2:35.28. Ruby Wilmes was fifth with a personal best time of 2:46.92. The 4x200 team of Jill Boswell, Lauren McIntyre, Anne Schieber, and Ruby Wilmes was fourth with a time of 2:00.23. Jill Boswell was sixth in the Long Jump with a jump of 13’7”. Dalanie Auffert was sixth in the Discus with a throw of 84’4”. 

For the boys, Ben Boswell was fifth in the 400 with a time of 58.16. Kodie Meyer was fourth in the 300 Hurdles with a time of 50.16. Creed Wilcox was third in the Shot Put with a throw of 41’3”. Creed Wilcox was fifth in the Discus with a throw of 103’10”. 

North Nodaway

For the girls, Saryn Brown was fourth in the 300 Hurdles with a time of 53.16. Lauren Herndon was sixth with a time of 55.64. The 4x400 team of Saryn Brown, Lauren Herndon, Jacquelyn Cline, and Hayleigh Vinzant was sixth with a time of 4:56.76. 

For the boys, Braden Mires was fifth in the 3200 with a time of 13:21.87. Corbyn Rucker was fourth in the Triple Jump with a jump of 32’7”.
