The North Harrison boys set a school record in the 4x200 and placed second in the HDC Meet, while the girls, with just three on the squad, finished third.
For the boys, Winston ran away with the meet with 173 points. North Harrison had 85, Gilman City 59, Tri-County 58, Newtown-Harris 55, East Harrison 42, Grundy County 28, and Mercer 12.
The North Harrison boys’ 4x200 team consisted of Brett Emig, Matthew Heintz, Brandon Hamilton, and Tyson Gibson. They set the school record and also won the event with a time of 1:42.19. The 4x400 team of Brandon Hamilton, Matthew Heintz, Cooper Cracraft, and Grant Claycomb was second with a time of 4:19.59.
Brett Emig was second in the 100 with a time of 11.79. Matthew Heintz was sixth with a time of 12.84. Brett Emig was third in the 200 with a time of 24.75. Brett Emig was sixth in the 400 with a time of 59.26. Grant Claycomb was third in the 800 with a time of 2:20.53 and fifth in the 1600 with a time of 5:26.44. Noah Breshears was fourth in the 3200 with a time of 13:34.75. Grant Claycomb was fourth in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 20.52.
Tyson Gibson was third in the High Jump with a height of 5’7”, first in the Long Jump with a jump of 18’8”, and first in the Triple Jump with a jump of 39’6”. He nearly completed the hat trick, getting firsts in three of his four events, as he was on the winning 4x200 relay team. Noah Breshears was sixth in the Triple Jump with a jump of 26 feet.
Brandon Hamilton was second in the Shot Put with a throw of 32’10”.
For the girls, Tri-County won with 143 points. Gilman City had 106, North Harrison 70, Mercer 61, Winston 44, Grundy County 34, East Harrison 22, North Daviess 16, and Newtown-Harris 6.
Halle Morgan won the 400 with a time of 1:11.60. Camden Castleberry was third in the 800 with a time of 3:05.33, third in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 22.06, and second in the 300 Hurdles with a time of 1:00.01.
Camden Castleberry won the Long Jump with a jump of 13’7”. Halle Morgan was third in the Long Jump with a jump of 12’11” and second in the Triple Jump with a jump of 27’9”.
Lily Sims Shovick was second in the Shot Put with a throw of 27’5” and third in the Discus with a throw of 71’2”.
