Northeast Nodaway’s National Honor Society marked its 50th year of service this year. It was formed in 1970-71 and initial members of the NHS were Nancy Inman, Mary Wright, David Owens, Mike Schmitz, Linda Brown, Lora Cordell, Mary Crenshaw, Penny Crater, Rhonda Tibbetts, Marcia Wray, John Gallagher, Vern Mitchell, Deric Owens, Kenneth Sherman, James Teaney, Ben Welch, and Jerry Wilmes.
Probationary sophomores were Donna Bowen, Marianne Lyle, and Tom Birkenholz. Sponsors were Patrick McGuire (Principal) and Shirley Brookshier (Teacher).
This year’s current members are Anne Schieber, Cassy Redden, Corby Schmitz, Angela Standiford, Torri Kephart, and Ben Boswell. Last Wednesday, Northeast Nodaway inducted six new members into the National Honor Society. They were Trevor Henggeler, A.J. Adwell, Kolby Sybert, Lauren McIntyre, Ruby Wilmes, and Lily Burns.
