Route 169 Targeted for Repaving in 2023-2024

Route 169 from the Iowa state line to Route 46 in Grant City is targeted for repaving in an estimated $1.5 million project that will run sometime between July 2023 and June 2024 under a draft Missouri DOT highway and bridge construction schedule that was released Wednesday. This is the only project specifically dedicated to Worth County for the draft 2022-2026 construction schedule. This does not include money committed to miscellaneous projects that could be dedicated locally. This does not include money that could be raised if a proposed fuel tax passes.

The draft construction project includes three projects for Gentry County for the period between July 2023 and June 2024. The first is repaving Route 136 from Stanberry to Route 169 north of Carmack Junction and from Route C in Albany to Route 13 in Bethany at an estimated cost of $5,384,000. This includes $4,287,000 in federal funding and $1,071,000 in state funding.

The second project in Gentry County includes bridge replacement on Route B over Grantham Creek one mile north of Route O near Ravenwood at an estimated cost of $1,113,000 during the period from July 2021 to June 2022. This includes $878,000 in federal funding and $220,000 in state funding.

The third project involves bridge replacement on Route E in Gentry County over Walnut Fork, 1.1 miles east of Route 169 near Stanberry for the period between July 2022 and June 2023 at an estimated cost of $1,058,000. This includes $831,000 in federal funding and $207,000 in state funding.

Five projects for Harrison County are proposed. The first project involves bridge rehabilitation over the Pole Cat Creek Bridge south of Bethany on Interstate 35 for the period between July 2021 and June 2022 at an estimated cost of $2,277,000. This project is entirely funded by the state.

The second project involves repaving Interstate 35 between the Iowa state line past Eagleville to the Clay County Line at an estimated cost of $1,039,000 between July 2022 and June 2023.

The third project involves pavement preservation treatment on Interstate 35 between Route N to Route 136 in Bethany between July 2023 and June 2024 at an estimated cost of $1,247,000.

The fourth project involves bridge rehabilitation on the Route A overpass over Interstate 35 just east of Route 69 near Ridgeway for the period between July 2021 and June 2022 at an estimated cost of $1,515,000. The project includes $1,175,000 in federal funds and $294,000 in state funds.

The fifth project for Harrison County includes repaving of Route N in Eagleville from east of I-35 to 0.2 of a mile west for the period between July 2021 to June 2022 at an estimated cost of $189,000 along with $75,205 in local cost share and $75,205 in private developer funds.

Five projects are proposed for Nodaway County. The first involves bridge replacement for Route 136 over Mozingo Creek for the period between July 2021 and June 2022 one mile east of Route F near Maryville at an estimated cost of $1,224,000. This includes $941,000 in federal funds and $234,000 in state funds.

The second project involves bridge replacement on Route 136 over Long Branch 1.2 miles west of Ravenwood for the period between July 2021 and June 2022 at an estimated cost of $1,048,000. This includes $746,000 in federal funds and $186,000 in state funds.

The third project involves bridge replacement on Route 46 over the Nodaway River 1 mile west of Route 113 near Skidmore at an estimated cost of $1,868,000 for the period between July 2021 and June 2022. This includes $1,322 in federal funds and $331,000 in state funds.

The fourth project includes repaving Route 46 from Icon Road to Route 71 in Maryville and on Route 136 from Route J to the Town Branch bridge in Stanberry at an estimated cost of $3,784,000 for the period of July 2022 to June 2023.

The fifth project includes repaving Route 71 in Andrew and Nodaway counties in the southbound lanes from south of Route B to north on Route 48 and on various sections of the northbound lane in Andrew and Nodaway counties from north of Route 59 to south of Route V in Maryville. The estimated cost is $6,320,000 and construction is estimated to take place between July 2023 and June 2024.

The federal and state figures do not include money that has already been spent on the various projects. All work is based on weather permitting, and may not include inflation.

The bridge replacement project on Route A in Worth County is in addition to these projects and is part of a different federal program.
