North Nodaway Accepts Resignations, Hires Noncertified Staff

The North Nodaway school board reorganized, accepted some resignations, and hired or rehired noncertified staff at its regular Board of Education Meeting April 19th.

Reelected board members Cari Cline and Vicki Riley were sworn in. Samantha Brown was named Board President, Vicki Riley Vice-President, Cari Cline as MSBA Delegate, and Tiffany Whipple as Board Secretary and Treasurer. 

The board awarded the bid for a new phone system to Midwest Data in the amount of $22,280.04. The board awarded the camera bid to Superior Sound & Security for $10,969. The board approved dirt work and gravel work for the bus lot to Jay Forney for $33,390. The board also raised the mileage reimbursement per diem to 40 cents effective at the start of the 2021-2022 school year.

In the Executive Session, the board voted to accept the resignation of McKenna Boysen as Middle School/High School Paraprofessional effective May 21st, 2021. The board voted to accept April Johnson’s resignation as the Elementary Custodian effective April 30th. The board voted to accept the resignation of Becky Ferris as 4th Grade Elementary Teacher effective May 21st. All votes were unanimous.

The board voted to approve Abigail Jackson as cheer and dance coach, Lynette Berg as lead cook, Chariza Gladman as assistant cook, Rinda Gladman as assistant cook, Shelley Combs, Dustin Stringer, Ron Thompson and Angela Titus as bus drivers, Courtney Blackford as a preschool paraprofessional; Vicki Heideman, Emily Higgins, Kayla Lewis, Shelby Marriott, and Kasey Porter-Drummond as paraprofessionals; Gaye Stahl as high school secretary, Kara Wagner as elementary secretary, Bo Hansen as maintenance supervisor, Teresa Thompson as high school custodian, Nicki Herndon as technology coordinator, Linda Russell as school nurse, and Tiffany Whipple as district bookkeeper and school secretary for the upcoming school year. All votes were unanimous except that board member Tim Blackford abstained on the vote on Nicki Herndon and the vote on Courtney Blackford, and Jerime Bix abstained on the vote to hire Rinda Gladman.
