Northeast Nodaway had a two game outburst Saturday in which they scored 50 runs over two games as they won the King City Tournament. They first unloaded on King City 26-0, and then proceeded to demolish North Platte 24-0 in the finale. They are now assured of a winning season as they entire into the stretch run.
The 26 runs the Bluejays scored against King City was a school record for runs scored. The previous record was 24 against DeKalb on May 8th, 2017. The state record for runs scored in a game is 48.
Ben Boswell hit two home runs in the North Platte game. Grant McIntyre and Creed Wilcox hit one each. Grant McIntyre threw a no-hitter in both games; since he only threw 49 pitches in the North Platte game, he was still available for the King City game. Auston Pride, who only threw 45 pitches in the North Nodaway game and was thus available for Saturday, finished the game. Colton Swalley hit a grand slam in the King City game and Auston Pride had a three run home run. Lane Dack was 5 for 6 in the King City game and 9 for 10 for the day.
