Three Seriously Injured, One Lifeflighted Near Gower

Three people were seriously injured and one was lifeflighted in a wreck near Gower Thursday morning at around 8:25 am. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2013 Kia Sorrento driven by Victoria Hanway (24) of Agency was northbound on Route B and a 2013 Subaru Legacy driven by Kristi Sohm (34) of Plattsburg was eastbound on Route 116. The Patrol says the Sorrento failed to yield to the Subaru, which struck the Sorrento in the driver’s side door, ejecting Hanway. The Sorrento traveled off the north side of the roadway, struck a house, and came to rest facing northeast. The Subaru traveled off the north side and came to rest facing southeast.

Hanway and Sohm were both seriously injured, with Hanway being taken to Mosaic in St. Joseph and lifeflighted to KU Medical Center by Lifenet. Sohm and a passenger, an eight year old girl, were seriously injured and taken to Mosaic in St. Joseph.
