Varsity Tigers are GRC West Champs

On Tuesday, May 4th, both Tiger teams took the GRC West title at the GRC Meet in Milan. The girls and boys were fourth overall, but placed ahead of all their GRC West rivals in the meet. All four Tiger Track teams took the GRC West Title this year, since the junior high teams would go on to win the GRC West meet Thursday.

For the girls, Princeton had 99, Maysville and Trenton 72, Worth County 69.5, North Andrew 57, Gallatin 53, Polo 46, South Harrison 45.5, Stanberry 41, St. Joseph Christian 39, Putnam County 35, Pattonsburg 30, King City 28.5, Milan 24.5, and Albany 23.

For the boys, Milan had 113.5, Putnam County 99.5, Princeton 90, Worth County 75, Polo 67, Stanberry 54, King City 53, South Harrison 40.5, Pattonsburg 39, St. Joseph Christian 30, Albany 28, Trenton 21, Maysville 16.5, North Andrew 6, and Gallatin 5.

Rebecca Smith was sixth in the 200 with a time of 29.72. The Tigers placed two in the 100 Hurdles; Morgan Beagle was third with a time of 17.94, while Brooklyn Richardson was fourth with a time of 18.32. Brooklyn Richardson was fourth in the 300 Hurdles with a time of 53.36. 

The 4x100 team of Hailey Adwell, Brooklyn Richardson, Rebecca Smith, and Morgan Beagle was third with a time of 54.54. The 4x200 team of Hailey Adwell, Braidy Hunt, Rebecca Smith, and Morgan Beagle was fourth with a time of 1:57.36. The 4x400 team of Hailey Adwell, Morgan Beagle, Brooklyn Richardson, and Braidy Hunt was second with a personal best time of 4:31.77. 

Aivry Griffin was tied for seventh in the High Jump with a height of 4’3”. Keelin Engel won the Pole Vault with a height of 10 feet. Braidy Hunt was fourth in the Triple Jump with a jump of 30’7”. 

Kara-Jean Staton was second in the Discus with a throw of 96’8”. Ali Brown was second in the Javelin with a throw of 104’6”.

On the boys side, Jace Cousatte won the 110 Hurdles with a time of 17.22, while Aydan Gladstone was second with a time of 17.56. In the 300 Hurdles, Cousatte got a personal best with a first place finish of 42.60, knocking off 1½ seconds off his previous best time. Aydan Gladstone was second with a time of 45.15. 

The 4x100 team of John Galanakis, Brent Harris, Jackson Runde, and Braxton Hightshoe was sixth with a time of 49.28. The 4x200 team of Aydan Gladstone, Nate Adwell, Levi Cassavaugh, and Jace Cousatte was fifth with a time of 1:38.62. The 4x400 team of Braxton Hightshoe, Levi Cassavaugh, Nate Adwell, and Jace Cousatte was third with a time of 3:47.81. 

John Galanakis was eighth in the High Jump with a height of 5’3”. Nate Adwell won the Pole Vault with a height of 13’5”. Nate Adwell was third with a time of 11’6”. Tyler New was seventh in the Triple Jump with a jump of 32’8”. 

Jase Latham was sixth in the Shot Put with a throw of 38’2”. Jackson Runde was fifth in the Discus with a throw of 115’6”.
