A three car wreck near Eagleville totaled two cars and injured a highway patrolman and another person Thursday at around 7:04 pm.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2000 Honda Civil driven by Franklin Garcia (31) of Kansas City, a 2000 Kenworth Tractor Trailer driven by Joaquin Medina (60) of San Elizario (TX), and a Missouri Highway Patrol car driven by Dylan Wilburn (29) of St. Joseph were all northbound on I-35 two miles south of Eagleville. The Honda and the Patrol car were in the passing lane, while the tractor trailer was in the driving lane.
The Patrol says the Honda cut in front of the tractor trailer, and the rear passenger side of the Honda struck the front driver’s side of the tractor trailer. The Honda then swerved back into the passing lane, traveling into the path of the Patrol car, which struck the rear of the Honda. The Honda then overturned multiple times. The Patrol says its vehicle was a fully marked patrol car with emergency lights activated and headed to a priority call.
Both Wilburn and Garcia received minor injuries in the wreck and were taken to Harrison County Community Hospital. The Patrol Car and the Honda were totaled; the tractor trailer was not damaged.
