Marcella (Sally) Rose (Runde) Davison was the eighth child of twelve children born to John Runde and Matilda (Ginther) Runde, on June 7, 1936, in Gentry County, Missouri. she grew up attending country school to the eighth grade. She always regretted having to quit school to care for her family due to the death of her mother. Sally was proud that later in life she finished her GED. Sally met Delmar Lee Davison after he returned from serving his country in the Korean Conflict. The couple were united in marriage on May 7, 1956, at the Grand River Church close to Parnell, Missouri. They made their home in rural Taylor County, where they were blessed with the birth of four children, Sheryl, Mark, Brenda and Dean.
Sally enjoyed being a farmer's wife and raising her children on the family farm. She was a tremendous cook, always looking forward to hosting her family Thanksgiving for many years. Once her children were grown, Sally enjoyed interacting with customers while working for True Value and HyVee. Delmar and Sally enjoyed traveling, with the yearly summer family vacation being a highlight. She was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church in Clarinda. After Delmar's death in 2004, Sally lived at Vintage Park Assisted Living, The Eihler Place in Clarinda and most recently at Bedford Specialty Care, where the family was comforted to know she received exceptional care by the staff.
Left to cherish Sally's memory are three of her children, Sheryl Ann Jensen and husband Tom of Canton, Michigan; Brenda Lee Weed and husband Lonnie of Bedford, Iowa; and Dean Eldon Davison and wife Nancy of Lake of the Ozark, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Sandy (Davison) Boswell and husband Tim of Bedford, Iowa; a brother, Bernard Runde of Parnell, Missouri; three sisters, Rosalie Starke and husband Dennis; Monica Clayton; and Mary Crocker and husband Jim; six grandchildren, Karin Feher and husband Andy; Laura Jensen and husband Ethan Glaysher; Alicia Bishop and husband Eric; Luke Davison and wife Jacie; Josh Weed and wife Tara; Lindsay Schrock and husband Craig; eight great-grandchildren, Kooper, Kruz, Karissa, Grayson, Wesley; Briar, RhyLee and Vida; along with many other relatives, friends, and close to 400 nieces and nephews!
Preceding Sally in death are her parents, John and Matilda Runde; her loving husband, Delmar Davison in 2004; her beloved son, Mark Davison in 2007; five brothers, Leo, John, Richard, Walter, and an infant brother, Eugene Henry Runde; two sisters, Teresa Price and Rita Andriano.
We will forever hold the precious memories of Sally in our hearts.
