On December 28th, 2020 at 5:34 pm, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s office received a call reporting that a pickup had hit a bridge on Hwy 2 just east of Ramsey Farms. The driver, 19-year-old Andrew Burkheimer of Osceola, was traveling east on Hwy 2. Burkheimer reported that he fell asleep and crossed the center line before waking up. Burkheimer then over corrected losing control striking the east bound bridge railing. Burkheimer was released on scene by Ringgold County Hospital ambulance and transported by private vehicle to Ringgold County Hospital for treatment. The Ringgold County Sheriffs office was assisted by RCH EMS and Mount Ayr Fire Department.
On December 29th, the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department reported that a Jeep was stolen in Bedford. It was subsequently found and recovered in Creston.
On December 29th, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office reported that someone’s dog had been shot by a large caliber firearm. The dog was treated and survived.
On December 30th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Brian Pfeil (27) of Maitland in Nodaway County on a Holt County Warrant for Failure to Yield to Emergency Vehicle, Resisting Arrest, Speeding, Failure to Register, and No Insurance.
On December 30th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Caleb Phillips filed charges against Thomas Affuso (39) of Maryville alleging Domestic Assault (Felony). Bond was set at $30,000.
On December 30th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Caleb Phillips filed charges against James Toogood (38) of Fort Worth (TX) alleging Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony). Bond was set at $30,000, cash or corporate surety.
On December 31st, Nodaway County Prosecutor Caleb Phillips filed charges against Amber McClain (39) of Maryville alleging Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident).
On December 31st, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Catherine McGuire (57) of Parnell in Nodaway County on a City of Maryville Warrant (Failure to Obey Court Order, Speeding).
On December 31st, the LA County District Attorney’s office filed charges against Jesse Martinez (37) of Los Angeles alleging Murder, Elder Abuse Resulting in Death, and a Hate Crime. FOX 4 News of Kansas City reports that the charges arose after the defendant got the Coronavirus, was hospitalized, and placed in the COVID-19 ward with an 82 year old man. The defendant allegedly got upset when the 82 year old man began to pray, took an oxygen tank, and bludgeoned the man to death.
On December 31st, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Will Morin (28) of Worth alleging Stealing (Felony).
On January 1st, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Melody Allison (51) of Rock Port in Nodaway County on charges of DWI (Prior) and Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident).
On January 1st, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Levi Wedgeworth (31) of Bethany in Harrison County on a charge of DWI.
On January 3rd, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Daniel Corrigan (36) of Ridgeway alleging Assault (Felony) and Resisting Arrest (Felony). Northwest Mo Info reports that the charges arose after the Bethany Police Department attempted to arrest the defendant for Possession of Controlled Substance. The defendant allegedly assaulted an officer, causing physical injury.
On January 4th, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Jack MaGee (48) of Bethany alleging Domestic Assault (Felony). Bond was set at $100,000, cash only. Northwest Mo Info reports that the charges arose after the defendant allegedly got involved in an argument with a household member. The defendant allegedly placed his hand on the victim’s throat, causing bruises, choking, and multiple lacerations on her neck and cheat. The defendant allegedly poured gasoline on her and her dog, threatening to kill her while holding a lighter in his hand.
Charges listed are mere allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
