Madonna Kirchner Recognized for Community Service

On Monday, KQHA of Keokuk (IA) recognized Madonna Kirchner as its hometown hero. She and her sisters, Colleen Gredell and Maureen Kull, have taken over the family business, Stan’s Pastry Shop of Keokuk. Kirchner is the mother of Erica Babinski of Eagleville and the grandmother of Olivia and Nick Babinski.

Founded by Kirchner’s parents, Stan’s has been in business since 1967. Every year, they have had a community basket in partnership with All Saints Church and Ladies of Charity, which helps feed the hungry there.

This year, they were unable to do so because of the Coronavirus pandemic. Instead, they purchased $14,000 worth of gift cards to get toys for children. Over 135 people were served.
