Seven people were injured in a three car pileup near Maryville Friday afternoon. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2013 Ford Escape driven by Juliane Cruz (19) of College Springs (IA), a 2009 Dodge Journey driven by Angela Meese (39) of Bedford, and a 2017 Ford Explorer driven by Mary Metcalf (68) of Maryville were all northbound on Route 71 at 250th Street ¼ mile north of Maryville at around 1:37 pm.
The Patrol says that the Explorer was stopped on 71 attempting to make a left turn, the Journey was stopped behind the Explorer, but that the Escape failed to stop, striking the rear of the Journey, which struck the rear of the Explorer.
Injured in the Escape was Cruz.. Injured in the Journey were Angela Meese (39) of Bedford, Suzie Meese (17) of Bedford, Bryant Youngs (17) of Bedford, Aniah Meese (20) of Bedford, and Anne Dunlap (60) of Bedford. Injured in the Explorer was Mary Metcalf (68) of Maryville.
