Obituary -- Estelle (Hunt) Hall 1927-2020

Estelle Marie Hall (Hunt) passed from this life on Dec. 8, 2020 in Duluth, MN with family at her side,

Estelle was born June 9, 1927 in Worth County, MO, the 5th of 8 children of Orilla and George Hunt.  She was a 1943 graduate of Grant City High School.  Estelle married John Hall of Benton, IA on Jan 25, 1947, not long after his return from serving in the Army Air Force during WWII.  They lived in Washington DC where John was stationed serving in the USAF and Estelle worked at FBI headquarters. They raised two sons, John Jr and Bill, and two daughters, Marsha and Marleen, as they moved around the country serving the Air Force's needs, ending up in Duluth, MN.

Estelle was preceded in death by her ex-husband John; her favorite son Bill; her parents and her step mother Alma (Harker) Hunt; and all her brothers and sisters with whom she remained close through all their lives.  She remained close with John's siblings as well.

Family was extremely important and cherished and there was little distinction between siblings and in laws. It was rewarding but difficult for Estelle to outlive them all except: her sister-in-laws, Helen Hunt of Mt Ayr, Gail Hall of South Carolina and Linda Gayle (Hall) Liljeblad of California.

Left to cherish Estelle's memory are her children John Hall (Genie), Marsha Hall, Marleen Hall Walczynski (Tim), Bill's widow, Beth Hall, 5 grand children, Jennifer Hall Olson (Andrew) great grandchildren Ella and Drew, Bill E Hall (Julie Allen) great grandchild Amiriah, Stephanie Hall, Jacob Walczynski and Joshua Walczynski,   Estelle has a special cousin, June (Vance) Combs, and she loved her many nieces and nephews.  And she will be especially missed by her long time caregiver and close friend, Monica Palen Wadle.

Estelle lived a long and good and productive life.  She was at heart, a farm girl, a hard worker, a helper.  She helped raise her grand children, and at one time was even a house painter, having determined that John Jr's house needed painting. She loved hers and was loved by hers.  She will be terribly missed.

A memorial fund has been established for the Middle Fork Methodist Church maintenance fund.
